EDIT
Late in the day I changed the title of this thread from "DU" to "Off-Season Obs" ~ anyone is welcome to suggest a better title than the current one :)

No osprey presence yesterday, but in the evening a visit from an osprey nemesis ;)
.
TIGER has reminded us that we mustn't jump the gun when our ospreys don't appear on-cam, or even at the Centre, for a day or two, so we wait...
IMAGICAT
I forgot to set the feeder going today but this is from yesterday, when the birds dazzled me as I FF'd thru ~ besides the tits, the GSW and red squirrel were very prominent.
Cresties were the very last birds to snack, and here we can see fleetingly that there are more than one visiting. (They'd already been feeding for a few minutes before this. Apologies for too-long gaps, plus I've lightened the video somewhat.)
That's a lovely shot, Mike! When I click on it it enlarges beautifully :)
A lovely vid of the crestie. I rarely see them, so thank you!

Some of us have never seen one! Yes, definitely, thank you!
Kind regards, Ann
That's a great bit of video scylla. Breaks one of my crestie rules as I've never seen more than one at a time. I think they must be very nervy birds. They rarely hang around for more than a second or two if other birds are around.
CRESTIE RULES amended a bit
1. They will be on the feeder when you're not watching
2. When your ARE watching, they'll appear for a nano-second (unless you're scylla)
3. Then, you will foozle the screen shot, chopping off their head and/or getting a blurry snap (unless you're scylla)
4. They will NEVER appear when there's a woodpecker on the feeder
5. You will only ever see one (unless you're scylla..)
6. And most times, none
(rules are meant to be broken, or added to)
Thank you MC. That is the size I was looking for and would have had previously!
Birdies LG DU update.
LOL Korky, so very true!
Wonderful, not sure I've ever seen a crest

KORKY !!! That Crestie was a super surprise on the end of a 4-hour recording, I have never seen one live.
(Perhaps I should have let y'all think I had a magic touch, but I must be honest ;) )
