This is the thread which will cover the second year of the osprey translocation to Poole
Tiger Signature
Unknown said: Well said, Tiger. There are still several more years in which to translocate Ospreys to Poole Harbour. The original permit was for 60 Ospreys and only 22 have been translocated in the first two years. Three more years to go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I feel sure that the project is a success already. All we need is one pair.
Yes, Tiger, and Rutland's female, CJ7, if she is lucky enough to return, ready to mate with a returning male next year or the next somewhere near Poole Harbour. Hope it is on a nest at RSPB Arne.
Kind regards, Ann
Reading PhilS's account of his cruise there today (Dyfi Chat) it is clear they have many ideas for the future and a positive outlook. Good luck to them.
Birdies LG DU update.
It must have been tough to do, but both Paul M and Tim M were upbeat in their talk to Birdfair on Sunday afternoon and clearly determined. committed to and inspired about their project (even though they did not invite questions, but that is completely understandable under the circumstances!). Well done them, I say. They have the example of Rutland Osprey Project as something to aspire toward and they will succeed.
So sorry to read this sad news about the young Osprey's, it must be a horrid situation for you all to be in. Fingers crossed that the rest will all be okay.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Sheila, thanks very much for posting this interesting article. His reasoning makes perfect sense.
Thanks, Sheila, very interesting article. Also explains that some fish (Mullet for one) contain both thiamine and thiaminase. Time to top up translocated Osprey's food with a few supplements.
On the bright side, I took these photos today of one of our juveniles carrying a piece of (supplemented) fish. It's wonderful to see the healthy birds flying free.
If I had a new camera I'd practice on Ospreys!! LoL.
Lovely shots Alison.
