Bente, According to ukospreys.uk, Druie is a female, ringed AN8.
June, Thanks for the Facebook snips. I'll have to wait until winter before reading the LG history--too busy following other nests and threads!
Kind regards, Ann
Thank you very much for the hints. It seems I've mixed up the facts. Now I remember a little more: Druie indeed was ringed, but she wasn't tagged in difference to her sisters.
Bente, how in the world did I miss these pictures of your little one? Your Karl is just absolutely adorable! (as you know! :)!) Thanks for sharing with us.
June - No need to bother with the nest now the eggs have been taken by the pine Martin. Scylla managed to capture the moment. See DU Page 1. Also the pictures of EJ at the Lochan being attacked by the duck is on FB.
Yes, Keith, it is a completely empty nest. Now we will never know if there was life in any of the eggs to start with. Not that anyone seemed very enthusiastic about taking steps to find out, but I would have been curious to know. The knowledge would not make any difference to LG or the osprey population. But it might add that wee bit to the overall scientific picture of the osprey world.
I did see the news and video of the pine martin on FaceBook. I had intentions of bringing that to The Gabfest, but it was never accomplished.
From FACEBOOK
Evening, All. Thanks for posts and pics.
Keith, I've sent you a PM regarding Glaslyn, etc., and someone would like advice about visiting Scotland.
FROM FACEBOOK
Both photos from FACEBOOK.
Sorry for the double post of pictures.
My capture from LG cam (Carnyx Wild) earlier today.
