Yesterday we had MaryGK on the ground in the VC, and she gave this report. GJ seems to have claimed the nest and EJ as his, though no fish has been forthcoming and EJ seems not to trust him incubating as a result. He comes to mate, and today appeared late to the defense (with full crop) of the nest from an unringed intruder. EJ is still begging for fish, but finally at the end of the wet day, she left the eggs for over three hours and returned cleaning her beak. We all hope and trust she had herself a meal. Meanwhile, Tiger reminded us that, if all were well, the first hatching would be coming this week.
She appears to be faceplanted into the nest, and it looks like the rain has stopped.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Nearly 2 hours alone
Good morning all. EJ is currently perched on the branch just below the nest but doesn't appear to be eating. Whether she's had a fish already, we're not sure. If anything happens away from the camera, we'll try to keep you updated! Chris
Morning all. You were right Trying. One chick at Loch of the Lowes. Being fed about ten minutes ago
Morning all, another wet and horrid day at LG. Poor EJ, all that rain, she was drenched, the eggs home alone again, and what of that George, no sign today then!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Thank you Chris T. Very much appreciated.
Checking in... Many thanks, Chris, for the update on EJ's whereabouts. It sounds as though she has perhaps given up on the eggs now?? Sadly, unless the roaming cam is fixed, we won't see much of her now. I am sure she will appear when intruders are around, and perhaps when GJ appears for his random visits.

Sad to read EJ might have abandoned the eggs, if that is the case who can blame her, there is no way that she can feed herself and any chick that hatches. Obviously new boy is not up to scratch.
Thank you CHRIS So sad for EJ that it had to turn out like this
EJ left the eggs at around 7-10 last night and didn’t return till 10-55 and it had been raining non stop. She sat on the eggs all night and flew just after we had left, We did the afternoon shift and finished at 6-00 and she still hasn’t been back on the nest although she is in the area.
