It may be Mother's Day here, but the sentiment is still somber. ~Limpy's morning pic EJ was home with no visitor but GJ for his early morning stopover and then a duck (scylla's vid)! Around 5 pm yesterday afternoon, EJ left the eggs for about an hour and a quarter, during which time the cam was unreliably up and down. Though the eggs were still intact on her return, and it isn't clear where she went and what she did, it marks her willingness to leave the eggs for a long time. In fact, earlier, she did leave for about 20 mins....(scylla's vid). Probably she did not have a fish during her long break, but it does seem she benefited from being away. Will she go fishing by the end of Sunday? Many of us are betting she will. Here she is for the record, nuttin' but buzz...© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thanks :)
She's lifting her head slightly to look around.
Dang nuisance, not having sound to alert one to activity.

Hi Patily. The buzz is caused by interference/incompatibility with other equipment in the building. Peter moved units to lessen it but it seems that certain configurations after resets etc. make it ten times worse. I'll see if I can get hold of Chris or Peter today.
I tap the link to Alison's report and then, stupidly, posted on yesterdays DU LOL
I so hope Alison is right and EJ went successfully fishing Have we seen her crop? Also, pleased that she still has the stamina to do all that flying

Have we seen her crop?
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Thanks I will go and have a look
....I have been having a look at the excellent shots posted by Moffer of EJ's return at 6:18. To me her crop does not suggest at all that she has eaten in the last hour, which would tend to support the idea that she would have brought a fish back to the nest to eat as opposed to eating it in the vicinity of where it was caught.
