Our last view of EJ on Sunday included an entrancing landscape lit (info from Helen) by a full moon, with Jupiter below. (by Limpy)And now she is faceplanted into the nest, looking exhausted. © RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx WildYesterday saw her receiving one smallish long fish in late afternoon, and either consuming it quickly or dropping it. In any case she returned quickly to the nest. We all hope for more substantial and earlier deliveries for our Queen, or we will definitely be continuing to call him Junior.
Another event involved what seemed to be a male osprey, Blue Darvic NW3, caught expertly by the sharp-eyed Moffer (video by scylla), trying to land on the nest and being flapped away by EJ. Later, osprey alarm chirps were heard from afar. Maybe GJ chased off the intruder.
I leave with the most recent capture of the minute. It is tiring to raise a new generation and train a new mate at the same time...she rocks on the eggs in her sleep.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Noticed this just as I was about to cover the screen - it flitted up from the nest. Was hoping Moffer might have it more clearly. Done a slomo vid, will post later.
Insect or bird?

Looks like an insect to me, Scylla

He's calling!!!!!!!!!!! Aww
Awww...GJ is chirping softly. He is looking towards the aforementioned fish perch? He is up checking the eggs, and calling for EJ. He has a sweet call.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
15.11 A few chips from GJ, as he looks around. More contact at the moment. He gets up, stands over the eggs and turns them. More chips. He is looking for EJ. She's been gone nearly 2.5hrs (13.36 fish delivery). More calls, checks eggs again. Another chip. I think that's the first time I've heard him 'speak' other than in anger.
He looks around.. checks eggs.. another chip or two.."where are you EJ?" A lot of digging beak into the nest beneath the eggs.
He looks around again, and then settles on the eggs, looking over the back of the nest
That was so sweet! EJ's taking her time with her fish!
Thanks for all the updates everyone. I'm delighted there has been a fish at last!

He's begun chirping softly again. He's been sitting for a loooong time. I'm sure EJ does NOT want to bring back any of that fish. She's gunna make sure it allll goes down. :-D
I'm quite impressed that he has stayed all this time. It has been a testing time for him!
EJ left at 13.36, and has still not returned 16.09!
He has started to chip again.
16.30 Another few wee chips from him.
I think I can make out where EJ is, but it is pixillated (spell check suggested dilapidated!) at that distance, so it's still hard to tell.
16.33 I think he is getting a bit agitated now. More slightly louder calls, fading... He looks anxiously around, calls again. Quiet
16.36 Three hours George has been incubating.
