Well, it certainly was another exciting day at the nest. While we are delighted that Junior is stepping up to the plate, we couldn't figure out how he been able to deliver two good sized fish within about half an hour. After much speculation about where he could have gone to fish and have time to catch and bring another, RSPB Loch Garten FB posted that an intruder male had brought the first trout (BNN's video), just before the 2nd delivery by Junior! Junior's looked much better, too, and she looked like she wanted to take it off him.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thank you!
The events surrounding the two fish an intruder are still unclear. Then of course there were the subsequent "trout variety" discussions: Blue trout, sea trout, brown trout or rainbow trout??? It is a mystery to me, though whatever the first one was, it did seem like a tough tear for EJ.

EJ ate her fish with relish
She leaves the tail fin and moves to the eggs
Some lovely talk about Odin The Magnificent. I'll never forget my first season in 2010. Waiting for Odin to come back and reading all the glowing testimonials Turned out he really was that brilliant. I know this probably sounds daft but I'm sure Odin would be proud of the new guy's efforts.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
EJ looks so relaxed on the eggs just now

Twiggy Junior was incubating 3 hours and 20+ minutes (check my sums) including a blow-over, fetching a stick, and an unseen intruder chase - hero!
I imagined I heard an intruder's voice so have 'done' the sound, but it was merely imagined.

I think he was going to have another try, as the first wasn't satisfactory - but the wind bested him.
18.23 Junior stopped by and took the tail fin
Wow! That's dedication. The boy comes good.
I rather like the name Orion, but a Scottish name would also be nice, but I haven't come up with one yet.
