Yesterday's Daily Update saw 18 pages of quite frankly Ospreytastic input. The young male who EJ has taken to, impressed us with two well sized fish deliveries. As we come into a new day, EJ is on her eggs but she has a slightly restless look. Perhaps we may see a third egg soon.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
I get the feeling with the way EJ is acting that we may be on course for egg 3 in the wee small hours. She seems a bit restless and the sleep she is getting is not as deep as last night.
I just hope that this season will be a success. EJ is such a joy
to watch, year after year striving to rear the next generation of young ospreys.
New name for the young male......how about Phoenix ?
Phoenix sounds like an apt name. Especially if this season turns out to be a massively successful one, after the dodgy start when male Ospreys began to arrive on the scene. I'm sure there will be much debate, no matter what they call him.
EJ seems a wee bit more settled just now. Still fairly windy.
02.26: EJ gets up and checks the eggs, does some housework in the nestcup. Then she settles back down and gives them a wee shuffle. She's amazing to watch.
Thank you for starting the DU again, Paul.
Here we have a video of EJ dozing, and perhaps dreaming of fish. Non-ospreyholics need not watch. ;)
Hi Pandy. I've often wondered if EJ dreams and what she dreams about. Fish? Sticks? Perhaps even multicoloured glow in the dark moss? ;-)
EJ has moved around a bit....maybe the wind has changed direction?Still seems settled though. One thing for certain...she wont go short of food come breakfast time....as she still has quite a large bit of that last fish unfinished, as can be seen at the back of the nest.
Hi, Trying.
EJ got up to stretch, and her right foot was tapping again. She settled back down on the eggs and has been alert since.
4:25. After dozing for several minutes, she's alert again.
