  • Evening all:  Finally, head and bod more or less coordinated.  A very good flight (arrived 30 minutes early but it was still a 10-hour flight).  Nice seat companions en route to Italy.  Was truly knackered by the time we got to Lincolnshire, where weather is cool and windy so I know what you're all on about. Didn't actually get up officially until 11:30 a.m.

    Lindybird: Glad you're feeling better.

Off to help sister organize dinner (though frankly, she organized it while I was taking an afternoon nap).  Take care all.

  • ANNETTE - Good to hear from you - do wrap up warm - we seem to have another change of season this week!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Annette - You must be so tired, after your long trip. Enjoy seeing your family.

Heather  -- I hope you can keep having the man to cut the grass, as it'll be one thing less to have on your mind.

I went to our Docs surgery for a consultation with the Pharmacist about the meds I take - she said "You are not on many pills" - I said, "You ought to meet my husband, he's 74 and he doesn't need to take any at all!"  This afternoon we went for a coffee at a garden centre, and my OH bought some tomato plants. I bought more bird feeder supplies, I can't keep up with the amount they're eating!

  • Hi all, thanks for all your news. Not a lot going on here, weather turned cooler but no rain yet even though it was forecast.

Still not able to go to the gym till I hope on May 1st.  Not quite over the cellulitis. Some skin flaked away and underneath red raw and bleeding.  Put a dressing on and went up to see the doc. Referred me to our nurse as it looked slightly infected. She put a special dressing on but by Monday it was coming off so peeled it off.  Cleaned up the wound and put a dressing on that I had. Still feeling sore but going to see nurse on Wednesday for bloods and she will take a look at it then.  The saga goes on, but we are getting there. Want to go swimming - so frustrating.

Lindy - see that you have had a nasty virus - do hope you are beginning to feel a little better.

Annette - enjoy your time in Lincolnshire with your sister.

OG - glad you managed to get out into the garden, well done to you and your OH for doing the jobs you wanted to do.  Puts me to shame - I don't like gardening and yet there is some tidying up to do.

  • Preparing for visit of Little People & parents tomorrow. I have pruned our toy box of too-young toys; I wonder if there will be any complaints. I nearly fell off my chair laughing at news item of extreme heat for London Marathon. 23? Cor blimey, that’s today’s temp and we are feeling a bit chilly. A sprinkle of rain this morn bringing the month’s total to 14 mm; way below average 40 mm. Season must break soon or farmers will not be happy.

  • Having a job posting:  had to sign in again and it said "access denied" just now!

  • I see that posted, so

Good Morning, Everyone.  Dry here but cloudy and lots cooler than last week.  (AQ -  I know it must seem ridiculous to you, but the London Marathon is held in April so that there are more comfortable temps for the runners, and the unusual mid 20s are very warm for April, here :-)   )

Sorry you're still suffering with your leg, Lynette. It's been going on for a long time, and must be frustrating as it stops you swimming.

Hope that you've had chance to rest now, Annette, and can enjoy your visit - also hope that the weather's kind!

  • AQ --  My d.in.laws have very different attitudes to their toy boxes at home - Amber's parents regularly prune theirs, and out go lots of things. But the boys have some very childish stuff in theirs and the living room is a sea of plastic (maybe they're hoping for another addition to the family ?).

  • Linda - Dau has been given many toys from relatives, friends & multiple births group, especially those with children who have outgrown their toys. After C-mas Dau collected a large number of toys, puzzles & games that she noticed the Trio rarely played with. She allowed them to choose one each and the rest were packed up for charity bin. Trio accepted this quite happily. Dau stores the "keeping" toys in tubs which are changed every week or so, thus there are “new” things to play with.

  • That's what I used to do, AQ!

Grey and drizzly here, now. My Friend dropped by for a cuppa and a chat, and we arranged to go to the cinema tomorrow. I am pottering around and cleaning things which look particularly grim around the house - I haven't done much housework for ages, it seems.
