George is such an ordinary name and not a "pretty" or should I say handsome sounding one. Apparently only one person spoke positively about it. At least they didn't name it some Norse God or in some other way try to imitate Odin's name. Also they didn't give him a Greek or Italian name which I would have disliked intensely. So I guess it could be worse.
But I do respect the LG staff's right to name the LG ospreys, so I now consider it my task to adjust to the name they have chosen.
Too true, June.

Oh, yes. another important point IMO. George is better as a name than a number. I understand that EJ's male has a number which has not yet led to any Identification. Even so, staff has chosen to give him a real name. For that I thank them.
Great capture JUNE
JUNE - As I have pointed out on your social media I am not impressed people deliberating over a birds name then call it George whatever the reason. Due to my excitement I'll call him BOY GEORGE.
If they wanted to honour George Waterson in nay manner he deserves the name put into the centre The George Waterson Loch Garten Osprey centre or the like.
Not a bird GEORGE today GONE tomorrow. I will await the outcome.
Like wise the nation has spent days deliberating a name for a baby to call LOUIS (Very Royal).
Its sunny and dry so will get out to LOTL and then to Aberfoyle area for a few hours. Ready to cross THE POND and see some ospreys fledge around FL.
