As we have had a monthly thread for Glaslyn since 2016, I have started the thread for April.
LINK TO MARCH THREAD.
I hope we get an Easter present today with the arrival of Mrs.G or Aran, it is always such a relief when they return.
At the moment it is an Empty Nest.

A couple of return date/first sightings of 5F on the Glaslyn page, can't see anything for last year though.

Last year 5F returned on 28th March
Clare Bailey said: I've been thinking about her as well. I hate the thought of her returning to waste another season on the spare nest. I hope she finds a better situation than that. Who owns the spare nest, out of interest?

I assume you are talking about the PC nest?? If so, Glaslyn issued this statement 6 March

They make the position very clear and IMO, I think best left alone. Whatever one feels, says - it makes no difference.
Thanks David :)
So we have for 5F
9th April 2015
29th March 2016
28th March 2017
What an enormous pity. It's particularly sad that a camera will stay on the nest - surely all it will record is failure? Not good for the ospreys - or indeed, anyone.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thank you all. Silly me never thought to look at the profiles.
Aran really needs to get a wiggle on and get back preferably before 5F.
Going by the above dates she's due any day now.
i tuned back in and had my first few glimpses of her :) @19:56
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
Interesting Facebook post on the new wooden Darvic rings which will be in use from this year - here's a link.
Clare, Today's date is....?
Kind regards, Ann
I'm such a plonker. That's the best April Fool spoof I've seen for a long time!!
Funnily enough, someone commenting on the Dyfi spoof article on Facebook said they'd fallen for the Glaslyn one.
