As we have had a monthly thread for Glaslyn since 2016, I have started the thread for April.
LINK TO MARCH THREAD.
I hope we get an Easter present today with the arrival of Mrs.G or Aran, it is always such a relief when they return.
At the moment it is an Empty Nest.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
That's stunning, scylla, with the blue sky and the snow-capped mountains behind.
Oh that is a dear video, oh those surroundings! Thank you Scylla! <3
Mrs G was just now sitting with a second half of fish... (@13:20h)
and way earlier this morning she was just thinking: “you silly ones with your techgear and affiliate visual effects, just sitting on this side of the rim is much beter!” (@8:28h)
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
Two ospreys at the nest. Visitor has blue ring on left leg HR7.

Mrs G seems unconcerned and is continuing to eat her fish.
Edit: HR7 is a Scottish male. Could be interesting.
Wow! That was lovely Scylla. Sorry, I have't posted here before but have on other threads. Love that video. Because I'm a novice (ulp), may I ask how you capture these lovely videos and photos? I'm assuming you can't be in all these places at the same time with video cams running. Thanks!
HR7 is the male that hooked up with Blue24 last season on a nest (can't recall the name) but too late to breed..I think.
Thanks, Sheila. He just mated with Mrs G!
Edit: He keeps trying to grab her fish but she's having none of it. The mating happened on the perch while the camera was mainly on the nest, but I could just see the two back ends having a coming-together in the top right-hand corner of the screen!
Sorry my mistake..HR7 bonded with 3J last season..not Blue 24.
And we all know that 3J has returned so this guy may not hang around for long.
Another mating attempt...
Ohdear, what did i miss... wish we had a cam on the 3J-HR7 nest.
