HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a good spring (autumn for AQ).
The roofing crew arrived on Wednesday, instead of Friday, to do some emergency, initial work on my roof. While they worked up there, R.T. Hawk and his mate flew over them several times, and then the pair sat in their pine tree and watched the crew closely. The men didn't pay much attention to their wary observers.
Red-tailed hawks are known to be very curious birds, so maybe they just wanted to see what was happening. I actually wondered whether the hawks thought the men were "intruding" on my "nest," even trying to steal it from me. In their raptor minds, they probably consider my house to be my nest. If I had acted distressed or angry, I wonder whether they would have helped me "defend" it?! LOL
Take care, all.
Let me know what you think, Lindy - I may make a convert! Not keen on chocolate in cakes, but spiced apple sounds good.
Enjoy your time with the grandchildren Lindy, but I am sure you will be busy!
I prefer traditional hcb's. Naughty Pat, putting marmalade on as well!
Quite like the cheese idea, but think I will stick with (lashings of) butter.
M&S did some cheese and onion ones last year, but don't think they were repeated this year. I like both cheese and onion, but they did not work for me in a bun.
Sorry about lack of improvement of the sore throats, OG. Hoping for better news tomorrow.
OG - sorry to hear you are all suffering from colds - mind you weather has been blowing hot and cold so to speak and not really getting rid of the germs. Do keep warm and hope you are all feeling a lot better soon.
Not been too bad a day here, even had some sunshine - so Mr. Sun is out there just finds it difficult to get through at times.
Afraid I just like HC Buns with just butter, yum.
Lindybird - see you are off again on your travels , enjoy your time with the grandkids.

Quick note before we're off to nanny duty. That missing sun being complained of - it's here. Grumble, temp rising to 31 at weekend with 34 C on Tuesday.
Evening all: I'm all for traditional hcb (warm, with butter). Yum!
OG: Ugh. Do take care of yourself; hope EE won't get any worse and that J's improve soon.
AQ; I think you've got our sun down there too; please return it!
Hallo to everyone else!
A quick look in, busy packing to leave tomorrow. Ferry Newcastle-Amsterdam then a drive across Holland and North Germany and up to Denmark. we should arrive in Thuro on Friday evening. I'll take my Kindle and keep an eye on LG and also all of you :-)
I hope that OG and family are feeling better.
Monty has arrived at Dyfi! WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Just seen the news on the Dyfi thread, Clare. Brilliant! I hope Glesni is not far behind.
Have a good trip, Heather. A long drive, but in good company, I think.
Yes, we all need keeping an eye on!
I also hope OG and family are getting better.
OG Do hope you are all better soon.
LINDY/HEATHER Hope you have a lovely time with family and friends.
Great news about Monty!
Been rather damp, here, but it cleared up enough for us to take the children to the park. Before that, we had a minor flood when someone small put their foot in the dogs water bowl...... dogs and children don't mix too well, we've found!! But they got muddy in the park anyway, so being wet was only the start!
Changes of clothes all round, and muddy shoes wiped - Matthew treated us to the 51st rendition of "Nick nack Paddy Wack" of the day....
