HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a good spring (autumn for AQ).
The roofing crew arrived on Wednesday, instead of Friday, to do some emergency, initial work on my roof. While they worked up there, R.T. Hawk and his mate flew over them several times, and then the pair sat in their pine tree and watched the crew closely. The men didn't pay much attention to their wary observers.
Red-tailed hawks are known to be very curious birds, so maybe they just wanted to see what was happening. I actually wondered whether the hawks thought the men were "intruding" on my "nest," even trying to steal it from me. In their raptor minds, they probably consider my house to be my nest. If I had acted distressed or angry, I wonder whether they would have helped me "defend" it?! LOL
Take care, all.
LINDY I also watched "Ordeal by innocence" and found it a little bit of a mish mash.
Sorry to say my cousin is back in the HDU again with yet another infection. She has now been in the HDU 3 times in the last 2 1/2 months. Her husband says it is the best place for her as her immune system is so low she is very prone to infections. He is desperate to get her home. Apparently she hopes they can go to Portugal this summer, but I doubt there is much chance of that.
What a shame, Dibnlib. Awful for her husband who must feel helpless to be of any use.
Lindybird said: Whilst there, we bought these and took them back for teatime treats! - one of the cafes does famous cakes, and you can also buy them to takeaway. I chose these because of the chocolate on top; we often take turns to choose what we're going to have. They are even bigger than they look, and when we got them out of the box, rather intimidating. The layers were light, with pastry alternating with sponge cake cut thin and lots of cream. We're not usually big cream eaters, and these were hard to finish! Needless to say, we were then very full.... Later, we abandoned ideas of cooking a dinner, and had a small snack instead! That'll teach us to be so greedy!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
They were splendiferous, Clare :-) But I'll never eat one again, they were too much!
The Danish pastries in that shop are huge, too. Big enough to share!
Hi folks and a belated Happy Easter to all.
Weather has been somewhat dull and very wet although it did dry up for a time today.
Talking about oven cleaning, guilty, have never cleaned mine. Always do a Sunday roast when we're in as OH prefers it even though there is only 3 of us. Keeps him happy.
Had a very pleasant day yesterday with Son and DiL and step-grand-daughter and her husband. DiL laid on a full 3 course roast dinner and did us proud.
Lindy love your holiday pics and especially of the sunset.
Glad to see that Mrs M. has arrived back at Glaslyn.

Evening all:
Lindybird: Those cakes looked quite formidable; still, definitely worth the effort. :-) Have fun at youngests. I love that cactus decorated with lights - it's even got the correct shape.
Heather: We have those fast-forward sunsets here. I still get surprised by how quickly the sun just disappears. Have a lovely visit with Danish friend; forgot when you're off on your trip.
Hope OG and family are doing better.
Busy organizing stuff here with more to do tomorrow. Take care all.
Good Morning, All. Dry here at present, showers predicted.
Yes, Annette and Heather - the sun goes down in a stately way, but then seems to gallop for the last few yards with amazing speed - look away and you can miss it! My OH said it was because we can see it, uncluttered, across the empty sea.
Off now to finish tidying up the house and finalising packing, including hopefully finding time to cook some fairy cakes to take with us tonight.
Progress of colds/throats here: J's is a full-on bad cold, mine is similar but less intense, although the aching legs are unbearable at times, and OH's is still deciding whether to intensify or not!
Weather - we could be warmer with some sunshine today, then wet tonight. Hoping for a dry visit to ophthalmology tomorrow for a decision about the second cataract.
OH currently shopping - difficult as nobody knows what to eat; I only want hot cross buns at present, would happily eat them breakfast lunch and dinner! No other plans for the day.
Have a good time with the Grandsons, LINDA! Enjoy Denmark, HEATHER.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG - hope you are all back to normal very soon. I can heartily recommend hot cross buns with cheese - my favourite way to eat them! They're good with marmalade as well.
Miserable and wet again here this morning. Did someone mention something called 'sun' the other day? I think we've forgotten what it looks like! And it seems to be snowing again at LG. Ho hum - roll on spring.
Goodness me! - Have never tried hot cross buns with cheese! - may try it though! Our local shop does them with choc chips in, instead of fruit, and a sort of hint of ginger, or another version with spiced apple which is good.
Have made my fairy cakes and iced them, with a very small choc egg on top of each. They will soon disappear! Just off to add to the growing pile of stuff in the hall and to throw a (bought) quiche in the oven before we leave after the rush hour: I'm taking this tablet pc, but may not have time to post -- I'm just going to keep an eye on EJ!
