Daily Update (LG Nest) Saturday 17th July

  • Looking back through the posts. At 12.20pm Lynette has printed pictures of No 1 returning from a flight. Just thought I would confuse the issue further !!

EDIT, No 3 fledging was reported as 12.16pm

  • Thanks for that, Brenda.    (also, on reflection, the bird in question took off straight from the nest without hardly any preamble, as if used to doing it! - the fledges I've seen are usually hesitant & involve a bit of flapping around 1st)

  • Just to confuse matters even further I was watching at the time of the alleged fledge and I thought that it was #3 at the time. The way it left and returned, in a rather nonchalant manner, put me in some doubt. The clincher why I didn't even mention it at the time, however, was that I couldn't be sure that it constituted a fledge as it didn't land on a perch away from the nest!

  • I honestly don't think it was No 3 Linda and I have watched the video again. I was thinking No 1 and that is what made me look back at the previous pictures.

  • Made no mistake about the key I can assure you.  Was No3.

Oh Sandy -  I'm not getting into the niceties of whether it constitutes a fledge, as sometimes they do go around the nest and then return without landing elsewhere, surely?  Its too complicated for me!

Perhaps we will just have to wait and see what LG says.

  • Right, thanks Watcher2. I must accept your ID, as I am very confused.

  • What a racket somebody is making on the nest .... hunger pangs again :-))

EDIT - two somebodies ... or even three making the racket now!
