Well folks, its been an exciting day despite the weather. The middle chick increased its wing exercising and almost went this afternoon but no, it was this evening at about 19.37pm that it fledged. Alison posted a link on the main blog. In case anyone missed it , it is: www.youtube.com-watch Its only short but it shows clearly it taking off.
At present we don't know where it is. The eldest and youngest are on the nest with we hope middle one on a tree sheltering from the wind. Only the morning will tell and hopefully when there is a fish delivery it will come back onto the nest
The eldest has had a few forays out into the big wide world also but #3 is still at home but has been practising. What will tomorow bring??

Beg pardon 3 at home all dunking down, one was hidden.
Hi, See they've had another intruder alert.
Thanks to All for posts and great pics.
That wind sounds very gusty & unwelcome. All 3 keeping down low in the nest:
One of the GEMs saw something it thought was a bit threatening- it stood up and shouted just like EJ, then mantled:
Intruder alert ... #1 (I presume) shrieking and mantling ... EJ must be away fishing

EJ flew in to the rescue ... and I heard an osprey chirruping in the background too ... Odin or the intruder?
I think its #3 testing its wings again!
EJ flies in fishless ... proceeds to move furniture ... young ones are not amused!
.great pics, Joan. Am trying to upload a video to youtube and its taking an age. Will try to post link later - its of the arrival this morning of Odin with fish, EJ and then #3.
GARY -am uploading to YouTube at present and will try to post link later.
Have to go out so will catch up later.
That really was amusing Joan. I just came for a look and at first glance, I thought Odin was on the nest, but no, it was his son.
