The Foulshaw webcam is now live.
Hope the ospreys use this nest this year!
I'm wondering if the camera issues are due the provider - 'Streamdays' - as Caerlaverock has been off as well for the same amount of time and they do the LS there. That cam is now back on too.
To show off the beautifull evening :)
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I was working at Foulshaw today and asked about the streaming problem. Nothing to do with Streamdays. Part of the camera system keeps tripping a fuse - possibly due to the very damp conditions at the moss. It has to be reset manually each time it trips.
Thanks for the clarification Ringlet, I just thought it was odd that both cams were down at the same time.
Yes, that's what I thought too initially. Turns out that the warden (who can reset everything) was away on holiday until today. Access is also somewhat tricky. So that explains it being down for so long over the weekend. The volunteers who staff the osprey watch viewpoint can't do anything about it if the webcam goes down.
35 looking snug
And suddenly the cam zoomed out and perhaps 35 feeling a bit damp as there is a heavy mist largely obscuring the view
C CWT
Looks a bit cold and breezy this morning
