Hi All: Just got in from movies (Three Billboards....); pizza in the oven. Back later.
Rutland Water have confirmed Blue 33's early return!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Oh, Linda – this is beyond whispers in ears – I may get the strength to say what it’s all about later! Glad you are finding some possible apartments for future stays – I suppose quite a lot of the best ones get booked up from year to year.
Good news from RW’s Manton Bay nest – I love that Osprey couple!
Dentist check-up at lunchtime. He says he will examine me in my wheelchair to save me the struggle onto the couch – just as well today as my legs have been totally non-co-operative in the night – had to be helped into bed. Made my nurse appt for injection training – opted to wait an extra week to get the one I prefer rather than the senior battle-axe (I do have some of the tablets remaining to keep me going)!
And then the drive to Carlisle to swap the car – still reluctant to part with the Roomster, even though I like the new one; OH is really keen to drive the Superb – it’s a man thing.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
We managed to get to a large park in Ipswich yesterday - if you'd like to see a few photos click on this lovely magpie:
Clare - thank you for another great set of photographs. I hope the 'bug' has now cleared up. I've had it as well - still coughing a bit. It was not pleasant!
OG - hope the car changeover goes smoothly, and that you will both be happy with the new one.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.
Reading your tales of litter. It is a pet hate of mine. We walk along a track in the woods and certainly notice a difference between term time and the hols. Benson though does love to pick up the plastic bottles. He then hides them somewhere in accessible and always remembers where he has put them. Another track we use is between the school and the local shops and empty packets are what he finds there. Sometimes if he is really lucky he does find leftovers. Where possible we let him bring things home and they go in our bins
Lurker on holiday here...
Drove 575 to Bath to meet eldest..
Drove to Bideford today to hook up with youngest ..
Fog permitting we take heli to Lundy tomorrow for a well earned girlie week.
I hope everyone has a good week depending on activities... weddings holidays or generally life itself.
Rubbish WiFi for a week and no phone signal.
See you all on the other side :-))
WENDY- have a super girlie week!
Heather we intend to...:-)
Long drive down on Wednesday (575) miles but left at 4 am...
Had the A9 to Perth all to myself :-))
h
Wendy - A9 all to yourself, what bliss!!!!
Good evening, all.
Dentist was fine – I really have awful teeth, but he says they look like they are lasting – just a scrape and polish today, and apparently I have good “peridontal structures” - gums and jaws, I believe. I remarked later to OH that this dentist never said anything nice to me before, and he said it was because I was in a wheelchair – to which I remarked he shouldn’t be so patronising! Poor man, can’t win!
New car is lovely – except that hoist fitter has done some minor damage and not fitted the hoist correctly to the scooter – he has promised our car dealer that he will put things right – but we’ll have to find a day when OH is free to take it all over to Newcastle, so I shall also demand compensation! We were sad to drive past the Roomster on the way out – we both called “goodbye” to it!
Clare – guessed it was Christchurch Park; our doctor in Ipswich was that side of town, so we went there several times. A great set of photos – and I am glad you are feeling better from your cold.
Dibnlib – do be careful what litter Benson picks up – Spaniels are renowned litter pickers, but I can remember our two “vacuum cleaners on leads”, as we used to call them, considering some quite disgusting unmentionables!
Wendy – pleased the three of you have now met up – hope helicopter can fly tomorrow - enjoy the trip!
Expecting a quieter day tomorrow – just the podiatrist visit around lunchtime. I wonder how many of us will experience the new Siberian weather blast this weekend?
