Hi All: Just got in from movies (Three Billboards....); pizza in the oven. Back later.
Good evening, all. There are two ospreys at Manton Bay now!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Whoo hoo, Clare!!!
I get wild about littering, too, Heather. The High School near us has pupils who throw their unwanted sandwiches over the hedge into the fields: the seagulls are waiting for them!! :-(
Good that you have plans for going to Denmark in the spring. What lovely friends you have.
OG - You have been busy on the medical front! Hope the sorting out of your meds is successful. And a new microwave on the way! We use ours quite a lot.
It was cloudy here this morning, so we enjoyed a very pleasant stroll around the town, followed by hot chocolate (with cream on top......) at a cafe overlooking the harbour. Saw some places we could stay next year, also some we don't fancy! The sun reappeared this afternoon, and this evening we've had a very dramatic sunset. Stopped stirring my casserole long enough to admire it, then we ate it later with carrots and a baked potato (done in the microwave, thank goodness we have one!).
There is a clock on the wall here which has the loudest tick tock I've ever heard! After two days I took it off the kitchen wall and took out the batteries as it kept me awake at night, even though it's in the kitchen and we have a bedroom. But we don't like to shut the door due to nocturnal visits to the bathroom. So we rely on our wristwatches for the right time, LOL!
OG, I meant to say, that a whisper in a couple of ears about not spoiling the day for the Happy Couple and indeed, everyone else, might do the trick. Families! We all have relatives we wish we could give a good shake to, now and then.
LINDY- I remember cooking steak in the apartment and sending my OH down to the on site restaurant to buy chips! Something like 'dos porciones patatas fritas por favor' if I remember correctly! Sorry about my appalling Spanish :-)))))
LOL Heather! - My Spanish is still weak even though we've come so often. We used to try and buy some chips locally, but nowhere does takeaway ones which are edible. Lots of good restaurants here but not many places with takeaway, even though there are lots of apartments.
Sitting with a bar of very dark chocolate and watching a DVD of Strictly Come Dancing, tonight. Last night we watched the Disney film of "Beauty & the Beast" which is a remake of the original cartoon version. Not as impressed as I thought I would be, sadly. It seemed a bit laboured and was not exciting at all.

I have relatives who'd be best dropped off a cliff somewhere. A big one.
I have relatives who appear to have disappeared from the face of the earth, but perhaps it's just as well. I might have said something quite dreadful to them! On the other hand, we do have some who are much nearer to home but who are a pain. Ho hum!
Better change the subject before I start naming names!
I was interested in the pics of the birds from these islands, BTW, as you might gather we see so few. The vegetation is such that occasionally I've been known to say "Look, there's a tree!" We have seen a whimbrel and the occasional egret. Otherwise just some sparrow like small brown jobs, and the occasional gull or two. I do have several photos of completely empty bushes where I've missed my chance! Last year I got excited as I saw a pair of large birds of prey but not sure of their ID as they were floating so high.
Must go to bed. Night All.
Evening all: Very busy and then - very busy again! I suspect more of the same in the next couple of days.
Amazing that Stephen Hawking survived so long and accomplished so much.
Heather: Hope the Denmark travel plans are going smoothly. I'm with you re litterbugs. :-(
OG: Oh good. Detachment in other people's fights is a great idea. I do hope they manage to behave at the wedding. Enjoy the new vehicle.
Take care all. If I can grab the computer from Ms D (she loves playing on Jigsaw Planet), I'll look in tomorrow.
Good Morning. Pleased you got there without incident, Annette. :-)
A bit cloudy here again today, but still pleasantly warm all the same, (temps in the mid 20s by mid day) so better than at home!
