Last season, the webcam went on line 7 March so here is a new thread for the 2018 season getting us ready for first glimpse of the nest and the arrival of its residents – LM12 and LF15 otherwise known to us as Laddie and Lassie.
Laddie arrived last season on the 16th March, the first osprey back to a public nest and also the earliest for an osprey to return to the Lowes in 50 years. Lassie kept him and us waiting a few days arriving 23 March.
Here’s wishing Laddie and Lassie a safe journey home and another successful season.
Hi Starling - good to see you.
The cam appears to be up and running now however still needs to be adjusted as we can only see part of the nest.

Hopefully when the VC opens, a member of staff can adjust it.
Oh, happy days .... all seems to be well with the cam and first full view of the nest
Now all we need is an osprey .... 6 days to go, I'm counting :-D

Nice blog, but Laddie's (LM12) arrival date is incorrect. Laddie arrived back on the 16th March, not the 17th, being sighted just after 5pm. Here is last season's blog LM12 touches down at Lowes confirming this.
Another nest we need to keep an eye on as Laddie is an early bird and could land anytime!
Nothing yet. Looks very windy there!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Blimey. It's life, but it's definitely not an osprey:

Perhaps they are working on the camera as it's very stop-start.

Blimey indeed LOL
That is not the Laddie I meant, the one I am referring to has a Spanish dancer on his head not a hard hat! :-D
Clare, the technical staff are there today trying to fix all the various issues. Weather has delayed them to date.
Birdies LG DU update.
