Last season, the webcam went on line 7 March so here is a new thread for the 2018 season getting us ready for first glimpse of the nest and the arrival of its residents – LM12 and LF15 otherwise known to us as Laddie and Lassie.
Laddie arrived last season on the 16th March, the first osprey back to a public nest and also the earliest for an osprey to return to the Lowes in 50 years. Lassie kept him and us waiting a few days arriving 23 March.
Here’s wishing Laddie and Lassie a safe journey home and another successful season.
Update from Lowes
Scottish Wildlife Trust - Loch of the Lowes
Karen, could this be either a digiscope or a capture from the screen in the Centre? No live stream.
Birdies LG DU update.
Hi Mike - no, there is no live stream and wont be until whenever!
But Lowes did say in their update that they would be periodically updating us with news and I suppose this is how we will receive it ie Tweet or FB.
No idea how captured ie scope or VC screen. Good point though as they are open and the VC screen may be working????
I'm sure I read today that the VC centre has the live stream.
Update yes just checked I read on FB :)

Thank you Starling. It is a capture from the Centre.

Note: this is a capture from the centre, not the live stream which is still not working
I have it in my head that they would be trying to fix the camera on Thursday. Is that the correct recollection or have I got that wrong? I can't see this mentioned in a quick scan of this thread. Ian

I have seen nothing for Lowes Ian. I think you may be thinking about the Aberfoyle nest ... repairs are scheduled there this Thursday as advised by Mike. Link to Mike's post.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
