Last season, the webcam went on line 7 March so here is a new thread for the 2018 season getting us ready for first glimpse of the nest and the arrival of its residents – LM12 and LF15 otherwise known to us as Laddie and Lassie.
Laddie arrived last season on the 16th March, the first osprey back to a public nest and also the earliest for an osprey to return to the Lowes in 50 years. Lassie kept him and us waiting a few days arriving 23 March.
Here’s wishing Laddie and Lassie a safe journey home and another successful season.
The Lowes cam only runs for about 15 seconds for me, then the burling wheel appears and I get this.
Is this happening with everyone else too????
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Yes Mary, just happened to me. VLC came on BUT has frozen so that is u/s too. I know they are still working on the system so will have to wait until later.
Birdies LG DU update.
Oh that's OK then Mike, wasn't sure if they were still working on it or not. Don't want to miss LM12 or LF15's big arrival.....
VLC is displaying moving trees when I first start up but then freezes. That will be fixed, of course, but what won't be fixed is that it's recording in "ts" (transport stream) format and I now don't have an editor to handle that, except one whose preview pane is so small I can't discern a dang thing :'(
Oh woe!
VLC wil convert ts to mp4, which can then be easily edited, but that takes time!

Sorry MC....might as well be typing French!!
Mary, I am getting freezes as well. Ian
When not frozen, it still looks like night cam, I wonder if it is on a loop. Ian
Camera now working, albeit it is blowing a hoolie and the picture is pixelating. Went down due to weekly auto security update. Should be resolved now as the protection team will be using the system out of hours.
Still no sound.

Mine's on daycam now (VLC) but very pixellated on full screen. I've fiddled with the video settings - ill-advisedly, given that I'm not MOFFER (hope you get in soooon, Moffer :-* )

Missed your post there, Mike, but I confirm your findings :)
