Thought I'd give Diane a break this week. Sorry, no pretty pic, but here's a link - posted by Gardenbirder late Saturday - to a funny BBC page re the Wales earthquake: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43100524 :-))
Annette, as the others have said, you did absolutely the best thing. I know it is hard. I have also been there. Lightning obviously landed on her feet when she came to live with you. We still talk about our cats and their characters with smiles on our faces, but it is not easy at first. I kept seeing Polly out of the corner of my eye for some time.
ANNETTE - You will miss Lightning a lot, part of the family for so long. Unquestionably, you did what was kindest for Lightning, whose quality of life and prospects of recovery were very poor. Hugs from here.
DIANE - Do you think that your shoulder pain will be better when the warmer weather arrives?
LINDY - Now, I'm curious about the potato cakes! What are they? You were brave to take the boys to the play park. It is cold here but thankfully, no wind. Maybe an east wind in a few days time. Horrible to contemplate...as I walk everywhere!
FORESTBOAR - After the virus which exacerbated your asthma I'm not at all surprised that you are feeling more weary than usual. Take care and stay warm.
OG and EE will be on their way now, to granddaughter's party. I hope that the journey will not be too taxing.
HARELADY - sorry that you have been so unwell. Enjoy your time with the family x
Everyone - have a good weekend.
ANNETTE So very sorry. The pain of losing a pet is of nightmare proportions, even when you know you have done the right thing.
WENDY I assume you will be keeping the rescue and that she won't be going home with your daughter. I am glad she will now have a lovely home after her previous trauma.
Hope everyone who is ill and everyone else has a good week.
I was so disappointed about Eve Muirhead and the others. Unfortunately I will probably feel the same about the result of the Calcutta Cup......doom.
Dibnlib.. he is a stayer..
Actually youngest returned home the very next day..
So well over 1300 in the 2 days...
He is coming on leaps and bounds with good food TLC and a brilliant vet..
Lovely sunny day here but it’s now quite chilly as a very cold wind.
Good evening, all. I've just posted my photos from yesterday - click on this sleepy teal to see more:
EDIT: I've now done the link properly!!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Annette, our thoughts are with you at this very sad time. We were so sorry to read about Lightning.
What a wonderfully long life you gave to Lightning! You went above and beyond so please don't ever feel like you didn't do enough. We all feel that way when we have to make that awful decision. So very sorry for your loss!
