HAPPY NEW WEEK! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Annette: I'm so very sorry about Lightning. It's so difficult to know what to do. Sending you strength.
I will catch up with everyone else tomorrow. Have a good Sunday, all.
Thank you Diane
Good morning, all. I'm on top of the world - I opened our back door this morning to hear the song thrush gloriously singing away! Spring is officially incoming.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
The birds can certainly cheer you up, Clare :-) I keep hearing a chirpy robin when I'm in the garden - I look up but can't see him in the trees!
Good Morning Everyone, and Thank You to Diane for starting us off on a new week.
A horrible night here last night with windy gusts and rain on & off. Cold and wet this morning.
Today's pic:
It was pitch dark when I got up this morning. I looked out of the window and there was Mr Blackbird on the lawn ... definitely a good morning!
MR BLACKBIRD
I rise up not long after dawn:A blackbird is often upon my lawn. How I enjoy his fluting tones, they calm me right down to my bones.
This common bird can be ignored,But by me, he is just adored. He moves with purpose and with joy - to me, he's such a handsome boy!
His wife, e're faithful, is often nearI imagine her saying "Be careful, dear!"They seem to choose some particular sticks, with which to build nests for their chicks.
My garden is a welcome placeFor birds in any time and space.Blackbirds are a joyful thing, when on the ground, or on the wing.
Long may you grace my grass, and sing:Long may you be a happy thingWhich starts and ends my day with song - you help me to keeping rolling on.
Lovely, Lindy. I also saw Mr Blackbird on the lawn yesterday morning.
The gulls have started leaving their calling cards on my windows and walls!
Our Blackbird males are most noticeable when arguing in twos and threes - lots of chasing going on. One female is still trying to keep out of their way!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
