FCS ABERFOYLE - 2018

  • So doubtful she lay any more now then? Thanks Mary :)

  • No I don't think so Sandra, if her and her mate raises two healthy chicks this year again that will be a very successful season for them.  :-)

  • Thank you for the report and video Mary, that was great viewing!

It was lovely to watch them last season and, as you say, a very successful outcome. :)

  • Thanks for your visit report and the vid Mary GK.

Music accompanying the vid is one of my favourite music tracks.

  • Thanks for the report and vid MARY That's an amazing nest Glad allis well even though we can't see much

  • Thank you Mary and for clearing up the number of eggs. Great to see the actual premises as well.

  • I deleted and refrained from posting my thoughts re: the visitor lodge @ Mike.

Lets just say....sometimes I think they get there priorities wrong!!

What happened to the good old Scout and Guide Wooden Hut idea?

  • Thanks for all of the pics and posts.  Hope the camera dries out soon!  As for the traditional scout hut, we must think long term, and probably must admit that nature reserves need to appeal to more than just Ospreyholics and other Birders!  Think of the long-term future of Ospreys and other wildlife. Long-term support is needed and that means supplying decent facilities for parents and small children and entertainment for people of all ages.  Then all attempts must be made to teach parents and children about the wonders of nature through the fascinating and dramatic lives of Ospreys as well as other nature.  Catch them young and they will support nature conservation and bring their children to nature reserves in the future.

    Kind regards, Ann

  • This isn't the place to go into discussion re: my thoughts mentioned above Gardenbirder. I think MaryGK's visit report and especially the video says it all... ref my mention of priorities.
