Methinks I need to plan a trip to the Highlands!
Thanks Ian. My weekend homework...!
Thank you Ian I keep checking in. I am looking forward the cameras coming back on. As it is now I am watching many Eagle Nests here in the USA, but I am a bit of a night owl which is Loch Arkaig's day time and makes for much better entertainment then sleeping eagles (not that I don't like the sleeping eagles) Scotland in on my bucket list to visit as well. Until I can visit I live vicariously through this nest (and my obsession with Outlander) Plus I kind of like you all here :)

Following other links, discussing The Scottish Ospreys from extinction to survival by Philip Brown, I was fascinated to read that in 1929 Captain Charles William Robert Knight (known as Chas, and born in Sevenoaks but travelled widely) translocated four osprey from the US and released them at Loch Arkaig! They would have been a different species/sub-species to our larger birds. The project failed. Rutland refer to it in this interesting link.

Sheila/Tiger, fascinating reading. Ian
I see a live stream from the nest on YouTube. Is this the only stream this year, or is there another address?
ColinA
Hi Colin, they sneaked that one on us, it wasn't expected to go live until the end of March. I look at the nest on the Woodland Trust site (www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/.../osprey-cam). There is currently no mention of the camera being live on the site. One or two of the posters to this thread are in direct contact with the WT, maybe they can shed more light on this. Ian
Have we spoiled their surprise?
