BTW - our Son lived up there when we made many of our visits, so we got to know Grantown very well!
!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Tried to post and lost it....
Have never been to Loch Garten, so can't help with info. However, visiting there is on my bucket list!
My Friend went to see" The Darkest Hour" and thought it was excellent.
Our Eldest rang tonight, and needs to come up North for work: he wants to stay on Tuesday night. I could not say to him that you can barely get through the spare bedroom door at the moment, as that is where we have put the small pieces of furniture, my clothes, the spare bedding, the travel cases, the pictures, the ornaments, several boxes of photos......etc.etc. Argh! - trying not to panic...
Just tried to sign in for the big garden bird watch and what a faf and I still cannot get in. Oh well, will have to try again.

I'm going to try to give my Birdwatch figures tomorrow. They are rather strange - amongst them -- Doves: 4. Blackbirds: 1. Sparrows: 30!!
Lynette: Darkest Hour was brilliant!
Good Morning. Raining here.
Tried to relax last night by watching a recording of "You've Got Mail" with an impossibly young Tom Hanks and a pretty Meg Ryan. It was great!
Must get going and start on taking more things out of our bedroom as my OH gets further on with the decorating.
Today's pic:
-- -- Some sort of Finch, but I've forgotten which!
Big temp drop from yesterday 44, today 29 but raining, so just as uncomfortable. Desperate to escape house, I went to city to library. Successful research. Long walking detour as tram tracks along North Tce still being laid – tramline to Nowhere. In fact, a stupid tramline that can’t do a right hand turn & people will have to change trams. (Back in ye olden days, they did turn right. Pollies excuses don’t make sense.) Back-to-School sales promotions finished, next up is Valentines Day.
Lindy: To me, that looks like a Blue Grosbeak. I've never been great at identification. I had to look it up, because at first I thought it was an Indigo Bunting, but it didn't quite look like the bunting here. Pretty bird!
Hey, folks. The Audubon Society in the U.S. is offering an online course on raptors. Rob Bierregaard will discuss ospreys in 3 separate parts. It's way too expensive for me, but I thought somebody here might enjoy it.
Also, the Up Helly Aa -- Viking Fire Festival -- is tomorrow, 30 January in Lerwick (Shetland Islands). There's a webcam dedicated to the procession and other Up Helly Aa activities. Shetland Webcams have been moved to a new website here. The procession begins at 1900 GMT. That's 2:00 p.m. in eastern U.S., 1:00 p.m. in Iowa, 11:00 a.m. in California. I have no idea in Australia. Sorry, AQ. I always love to watch this procession.
