HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We begin the year with a Full Moon on the night between Monday and Tuesday. This Full Moon is also a so-called Supermoon, because it will occur just hours after the moon reaches perigee (its closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit).
I cherish you all, and I wish you a joyful, peaceful, healthy, and fulfilling 2018! Thank you for being my friends.
Greetings, All, and wishing Everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!
I rarely read this thread; there is just not time to read everything, sadly, but I am so happy I did. That is because years ago I knew an elderly couple in the States who had Tree Swallows nesting in their lovingly-made nest boxes every year. They would throw bits of tissue (and fallen feathers from their domestic duck) up into the air and the Swallows would dive after and catch them, taking their treasures back to add to their nests. It was a joy to watch, and so was listening to the Swallows chatter to each other, very much as House Martins do here. It was a very welcome sight and sound of spring and summer, especially since their winters were all very much like the one currently afflicting the northeast in the States!
Kind regards, Ann
The firework display was to celebrate a 100 years since women got the vote.
Managed to get to the gym twice this week, Tuesday and today so getting back into the swing of things.
They reckon strong winds and cool air coming in for the weekend, just have to wait and see!
Heather, it does take time but as you say, think positive and of all the lovely things there are in your life today re family etc.
Lindy, as always, love your daily pics.

Lindybird, I can empathize with that about listening more. Once I get started I just want to keep going, I think its because as I don't really see anyone during the week I'm ready for a conversation by the weekend and I can prattle on about something or nothing. I suppose we all are capable of it at times - human beings after all.
Never make resolutions myself as I know I won't be able to keep them.
Nice to hear from you, Gardenbirder. Like your story of the tree swallows.
Yes, the've heard the cubs sounds but apparently it wont emerge till about March they reckon - as they would in the wild. Fantastic news.
Lynette - You came on again as I posted.
I used to say very little, but as I got more confident I began to rattle on about well, whatever! My OH is the strong, silent type and only speaks when necessary, so maybe I began to think I had to fill the gaps!
Diane - do hope you don't get snowed in - keep warm - we are expecting some Arctic weather at the weekend too.
Lovely to hear from not so familiar names - keep the comments coming.
Sounds like my OH too, only really says something when he has to.
