HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We begin the year with a Full Moon on the night between Monday and Tuesday. This Full Moon is also a so-called Supermoon, because it will occur just hours after the moon reaches perigee (its closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit).
I cherish you all, and I wish you a joyful, peaceful, healthy, and fulfilling 2018! Thank you for being my friends.
By the way, I was surprised yesterday to hear that's being reported that a Polar Bear has been born in Scotland, in the Cairngorms National Park.

Your tree warblers are gorgeous!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
It's at the Highland Wildlife Park at Kingraig,Lindy. They have very large enclosures there so the bears have a more natural habitat especially when it snows.
Kind regards
Jenny
bjane: I hope you didn't get more snow. Shoveling snow in this cold is dangerous, hard work. I was thinking about you today when it was snowing here. I think I could still get down my driveway without shoveling if I had to, but I don't want to drive because it's too cold for the salt-grit on the roads to be effective.
Annette: I'm okay, but I'm tired of being cold. -9F (-22.7C) here tonight. The arctic freeze is predicted to last until Sunday here. Thanks for caring. Yes, the East Coast storm will be very bad. It's undergoing bombogenesis and will have hurricane force winds and heavy snow, but my weather is coming from the northwest. Glad you're getting your cleaning and organizing done for the New Year. You can come here next. LOL
Hello to everyone. Two rabbits are taking shelter from the snow underneath my car. I saw their tracks this morning. LOL
Nice to see you, Nairnred (Jenny)!
DIANE - just have to comment on that wonderful word "bombogenesis" - wish I had invented it - the word, not the phenomenon!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
LOL, OG!!! Sometimes they call those storms "Bomb Cyclones" or just "Bomb Storms."

Been to have my mammogram test (we have them every 3 years in UK). Easy to park, which was a relief, as it's a notoriously difficult place to find a space. But they charge you 3 pounds 50p!!!!
It's grey and drizzly here now, although there were glimmers of sun on my journey.
