HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We begin the year with a Full Moon on the night between Monday and Tuesday. This Full Moon is also a so-called Supermoon, because it will occur just hours after the moon reaches perigee (its closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit).
I cherish you all, and I wish you a joyful, peaceful, healthy, and fulfilling 2018! Thank you for being my friends.
Diane: Thank you! When I saw the moon tonight I thought, I'm sure Diane will tell us about the Supermoon. The very, very best to you. Here's to a year full of freelance projects that bring lots of income and minimal stress!
Annette: I'm wishing you a year of serenity, too! You deserve it.
Thank you, Diane.

The wedding was fine. 1½ hour drive with detour to collect Dau who looked stunning. We need not have worried about time as bride was ½ hour late (which I think is bad manners). Ceremony outdoors, lovely weather, a bit too warm for some oldies, but a breeze. Gorgeous dress, teeny veil, 2 maids, flower girl & boy (niece & nephew). Photos under eucalyptus. Later at local hall, plenty of finger food, donuts for dessert. We left early-ish as did other oldies. I believe nowadays some bride & groom are the last to leave! Dau was more familiar with modern-day wedding customs and was prepared for them. She convinced her father to have his photo taken for the guest book & she wrote a lovely note to go with. Then she cheekily asked photographer for a copy of 3 of us to take home! S-i-l was texting Dau his success putting Trio to bed, so she relaxed & enjoyed meeting cousins. I slept well, slept in and had another sleep this afternoon.
Sydney is preparing to be first (!) in world to welcome New Year. Melbourne, rivals as ever, claim their fireworks will be bigger.
To all my friends, posters & lurkers, I wish you a very happy, safe & healthy 2018.
Good Morning, All. Dry here and not much wind at present, but gales predicted in Scotland, N. Ireland and N. England (us!). Hope the New Year Celebrations are not blown away....
Thank you, Diane, for your beautiful pic and good wishes, and of course AQ and Annette, too.
Enjoyed your description of the warm wedding, AQ. My OH is on his way over to see if there are any leftover doughnuts, as they're his favourites.
Today's pic:
What's that? A vegetarian carnivore???
LOL! - I don't know!! A Happy pup!
Just took some pics of our big "real" Christmas tree, in the sunshine this morning:
Thank you Lindybird for all your lovely photos daily.
Without being a killjoy, but having known someone personally afftected by having a paprweight on a table, I noticed your crystals and little lantern on the Windowsill.Brought back those sad memories.
HERE was a Newspaper article a few years ago.
I did know about the danger, SunnyKate2. We have quite a few paperweights, but I don't leave them on the windowsill. There are no fabrics to catch fire in our conservatory, anyway :-)
But you're right to warn everyone. (The lantern is one with a false candle in it, run on a battery)
