LINDY Definitely worth repeating.
Clare Bailey said: Good morning, all. I'm pleased to say that Limpy is feeling much better - it seems he was reacting to one of the tablets he was recently prescribed and now he's stopped taking it (under doctor's order's, for a change!) he's like a different Limpy! Phew.

What a relief indeed, CLARE :-)
Good news Clare.
Birdies LG DU update.
CLARE Very glad to hear that. Best wishes to you both.
Morning all:
Clare: Add my smile to those pleased that Limpy is doing better. You really have to watch out for side effects from and interactions between meds, especially in "older" patients (not that any of us fall into that category).
Heather: Was a first-time visit for the kids, who've only been to one of the Caribbean islands before. They really loved London (they were staying near the London Eye) and the UK and felt very comfortable there and everyone friendly. The trip included a tour of Windsor/Stonehenge and Bath. They had a good time with family - loved my sister's house in Lincolnshire and also the easy access to walkways, open spaces and the river/canal at nephew's house in Milton Keynes. They did all the Paris sites, thought the hotel staff great, but generally found Parisians not quite as easy as the Brits. Of course, neither of them speak French although I gather g'son's fiancee tried to use the Duolingo app. I haven't had an issue in Paris myself, maybe because I learned French at school and use it as much as possible, which they do seem to appreciate. Both somewhat aghast at comparatively reckless drivers in both countries and pedestrians who seemed to play chicken with traffic and ignore cross/don't cross lights. Overall, they had an "amazing" time. ( I was pleased they didn't say "awesome"! ) Ride back to our house required a detour for grandson to In-n-Out for a "real" American hamburger. All back home; now back to business as usual...
Rosy: It's a good thing I love driving! But I was pleased we did manage to escape Los Angeles right before rush hour started.
Sounds as if your grandson and partner had a good time, Annette. I suppose the UK seems friendlier in that there's no language problem. Only ever went to France once, and found some animosity there towards those who didn't have any grasp of their language, though, myself. (My French is strictly confined to only reading menus).
I find that in all countries, there is a much more reckless attitude by pedestrians towards crossing the road, if you're in a city. As regards drivers, you need to be in Italy to witness truly crazy driving, where it's almost mandatory. Although when we were in Malta, I saw some pretty mad behaviour, and an awful lot of dented vehicles..
We've been busy again: haircut for me this morning, and both of us off to a quite distant town to attend a Clinic for my OH, where all was well.
We managed to communicate in Paris. I only have a few words of French and probably an atrocious accent, When asked if we were English, we found that if we said we were Aussie that we got a (slightly) better response!
.
Nanny duty yesterday. MissJ greeted me with a pile of books. I read 8½ before MissL woke from nap . . . and presented her pile of books. Alas they all were about Grug. Grug is the top of a Burrawong tree and <sigh> does stupid things. Third book I read was Grug goes to Beach where he plays on sand, gets dumped by surf and is sunburnt because he forgot the suncream. Book 4 in pile was Grug goes to Beach, I had to read it. Next book was another copy of Grug goes to Beach!!! Triplicate birthday gifts! Yes, I read it 3 times. Later I helped Dau peel & chop, then a few chores while Dau out and twins played together. They no longer fuss when mummy disappears for school or guides run. AND I was dismissed early.
AQ: My niece only half jokingly said that the French dislike the English most and then Americans. I shall clearly have to perfect my Aussie accent! :-)
Lindybird: We are mostly very well trained here; an intersection can be completely void of traffic but we stand quietly and wait for the Walk signal. There's a fine if you're caught jay walking or crossing at the wrong time, but not as large as when a driver enters a crosswalk when a pedestrian is in it. We have a problem with cyclists, many of whom ride against traffic and don't seem to realize that traffic lights, etc, don't apply to them.
Looks like we have a couple of cool days before a major warm up next week. Ugh.
Good Morning, All. Looks dry here.
Sounds as if they love their books, AQ. Grug is new to me, although our littlies love to be read to, too.
Hope that all is going well for OG, and that Limpy continues to improve now that they've sorted out his meds.
