WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, AUGUST 6,2017

Lindybird: I love the idea of the Country Living tent - I could probably do a lot of $$$ damage there!

ForestBoar:  Thanks for clarifying. Hope daughter can move there sooner than later.

Lynette: Ghastly situation for your bro with contractors peering in the windows.  What a nerve!!  My niece is going to Dorset (I had to Google Durdle Door) within the next couple of weeks with friends to look for fossils (they apparently got the correct tools after a previous trip!).  I read Remarkable Creatures and loved it. I thought they were going to make a movie of it, but haven't been able to find if it was actually made. Love the idea of an ice cream farm!  :-)

Take care all.

  • I have enjoyed your photos of the Tatton Show, Lindy, I have never been, though my sister has - (she lives in Cheshire). I would be very tempted by the bronze hares, just my sort of thing. Here is a pic of a hare that I treated myself to on my recent visit to Scotland.   (18cm to tip of ears.)

Was tempted into the House of Bruar...! Very impressed by the art in the Gallery.

  • He's adorable, Chrisy.  Love him!

I keep hinting to my OH that I'd love one of those metal ones which are on sale for putting in the garden......

  • I've been out to take my Friend out to lunch at her favourite Garden Centre. She can't drive yet of course and is getting around on elbow crutches. The physiotherapist has told her that she's doing well in terms of getting movement back, but she says that she should not be in so much pain.

We both had the soup - Friend had our often favourite Pea & Ham, and I had a delightful bowl of Sweet Potato & Squash.

  • CHRISY    I thought I recognised that hare. The gallery at Bruar is so tempting. We have been admiring the turtles but have kept the wallet tightly shut.

LINDY    We have a hare in the garden. It is maybe a couple of feet tall and was made in the Loch Broom area. We got it from one of the local craft fares.

  • LINDY   If you are interested, look up Paul Szeiler and check out the first site. I also have a bangle with running hare made by Jill.

  • This is really for Annette - but others may be interested.  I don't think I should make any comment ...

As a golfer, this has increased my sympathy for those across the pond even more.

  • I had to Google homity pie. Sounds interesting and will be on menu this weekend!

    .

Nanny duty was half playing with MissJ and half housework. When Mummy had to do school pickup, MissL cried. I began singing Sing a Song of Sixpence and ¾ through, she fell asleep on lounge. Still snoozing when I left. By then MissJ was too tired to eat her tea and fell asleep in her mum’s arms. No wonder as she had been so active earlier.

  • MissJ demonstrating her skills. When she dropped to ground, crawled out and prepared to start again, I was told firmly no more photos, that's enough. Yes, Miss Bossy.

  • Hallo all:  Will catch up tomorrow.  Another frustrating day - got everything done but then home to find the electric company, which had turned off the power at 8 a.m. sharp, was still working on hooking everything back. It looked promising at 4 p.m. and still promising at 5 p.m., then a little less promising at 6, the scheduled turn-on time. Three hours later, we finally got the electricity back on. Still, it gave all the neighbors a chance to chat because we were all lolling in our front gardens watching the poor guys going back and forth in their huge trucks trying to pin down the problem. Several of us were speculating on how we'd cope in a world with no power at all - we're so spoiled.

Anyway, I spy a photo of a very pretty little girl that I'll have to take a closer look at tomorrow!

  • Annette - Come to wonderful SA where power outages are so common. However we've had no long outages in our house since I bought a camping torch & battery radio.  I've probably jinxed us for boasting LOL.
