Lindybird: I love the idea of the Country Living tent - I could probably do a lot of $$$ damage there!
ForestBoar: Thanks for clarifying. Hope daughter can move there sooner than later.
Lynette: Ghastly situation for your bro with contractors peering in the windows. What a nerve!! My niece is going to Dorset (I had to Google Durdle Door) within the next couple of weeks with friends to look for fossils (they apparently got the correct tools after a previous trip!). I read Remarkable Creatures and loved it. I thought they were going to make a movie of it, but haven't been able to find if it was actually made. Love the idea of an ice cream farm! :-)
Take care all.
Good Morning All. A bit cloudy here this morning. Maybe it will clear, later.
Annette - Sounds like a busy and frustrating time. Hope your daughter's day goes better today.
Was sad to hear that Glen Campbell has just died, I loved his music and his lovely voice.
OG -- A cabbage!!! !!!
Today's pic:
"I'm impersonating Donald Trump, with my arms crossed!"
That's way too good looking to be President Fart.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I've just posted a few more photos from Felixstowe Ferry. Click on this lovely dog to see the rest:
It's now chucking it down with rain here. The forecast for this afternoon isn't good - and apparently they've had flooding on the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coast. I hope we're more fortunate here.
Lindybird: Our fearless leader seems to have left his hair at home! Though there's no mistaking that snarl.... :-)
Clare: Nice pix, but must confess my favorite is the dog.
OG: How did someone with such an expert eye in the garden mistake a cabbage for a weed!?
Ghastly weather back there; my UK niece is thoroughly disgusted with all the rain. Off to take on the day....
Good afternoon – lovely weather again here – tomorrow too if they got it right. OH continued back garden this morning by straightening the bird feeder pole and pulling up dropped seed which was growing around it. Sparrows were most indignant, especially as he cut back the Sambucca which grows near it, which they use as a landing stage. He also set up the water feature for the first time this year. I sat and watched – and advised! This afternoon he has gone to the tip.
We intend to go out tomorrow – J is going to Carlisle – actually into the city centre – so we two are going (in opposite direction) to Loch Arthur for lunch and some special shopping. Hoping they have their Homity Pie on the lunch menu.
Annette – sorry yesterday was so difficult – I hope today runs more smoothly. Definition of a weed is “a plant in the wrong place”, so I guess that about sums up a cabbage growing on the edge of the roof! Not sure what it looked like myself, was not shown the evidence.
Linda – was talking about Glen Campbell only yesterday and listened to one of his tracks on YouTube. Very sad that he is gone.
Clare – I thought it was about time we had some pics from Felixstowe Ferry! That dog’s coat is so silky-looking – must be all the salt water doing her good – felt like I could reach out and feel it! Sorry about all the rain own East Coast today.
OH back from the tip – closing windows as sky is overcast so temp has fallen. He is going to a meeting this evening about food hygiene, because he helps with church lunches. All three of us have done the basic training at some time, but some people in church can’t understand the need, or having to update from time to time.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG Had to look up homity pie. It sounds good
Had my 3rd swim of the week today. I will have a break tomorrow before swimming again on Fri and Sat. Still limping I am afraid, so thank goodness I can get some exercise in the pool.
My cousin is back home after nearly another year in hospital. Apparently there was a problem with the careers on day one, but hopefully that has been sorted out.
Loved Glen Campbells mellow tones.
DIBNLIB - sorry to see you are still limping - must be a couple of months now! Pleased your cousin got home. There can be a lot of difficulty getting carers organised - I saw some of it from the inside when I was in hospital - and was glad my OH was able to do everything for me and we didn't have the care package they were discussing!.
