WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, AUGUST 6,2017

Lindybird: I love the idea of the Country Living tent - I could probably do a lot of $$$ damage there!

ForestBoar:  Thanks for clarifying. Hope daughter can move there sooner than later.

Lynette: Ghastly situation for your bro with contractors peering in the windows.  What a nerve!!  My niece is going to Dorset (I had to Google Durdle Door) within the next couple of weeks with friends to look for fossils (they apparently got the correct tools after a previous trip!).  I read Remarkable Creatures and loved it. I thought they were going to make a movie of it, but haven't been able to find if it was actually made. Love the idea of an ice cream farm!  :-)

Take care all.

  • Hi everyone from sunny (at the moment) Suffolk. Sad news re the dove chicks. One year my son who slept at the front of the house watched a pigeon chick grow and fledge in the nest in a tree outside our house and would give us all daily updates.

I too have been enjoying the Hares and when I get to the box with all of mine in I will post a few photos.

Heading out to the tip - or recycling centre as it is now -  with bottles and boxes - we are not allowed to put glass in out refuse collection so have to take to tip or bottle bank.

    Have a good day all.

  • I wondered if you would see the hares posted on here, Harelady -- I was thinking of you when I saw them!

Find it shocking in a way that you don't have a glass collection. I used to collect all our glass items and take them to the tip for years before we had all even heard of 'recycling.' I felt it was all such a waste at the time. A local man used to take all of the aluminium we bagged, and recycled it for a charity.

  • Greetings on a dreich day – started with real rain, but since breakfast has mostly been damp drizzle, dark and dismal.  OH is finishing the cleaning which he started yesterday.  J has gone for his first of two hospital appointments re eyes – other specialist is next Wednesday.  I am moving reasonably well today, and finding little things to do.

Dibnlib – sounds like you have enjoyed several puppy encounters – what does Benson think of this?

Linda – sad that both the Collared Dove Chicks failed to survive – at least Bonnie can’t be accused of climbing the apple tree!

Lynette – thanks for posting your Daughter’s pics of Jurrasic coast.  Enjoy your coach trip to Germany.

Harelady – if boxes are going to the tip, I guess the unpacking is going well!  Good to hear from you, and will enjoy seeing pics of your hare collection.

Nothing left to talk about – but beginning to look forward to next Saturday’s visit from Dau#2 and Fiancé; not seen them since the end of March when they came to the hospital.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG   Benson does't know anything about the pups' or if he does he is not letting on!!!!

  • DIBNLIB - LOL!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Drizzling here... urgh.  But a bit warmer!

Here are some more Tatton Flower Show pics:  we are near the end, as I didn't take so many this year due to the weather.

A few more show gardens to go....

I like the little arbor on this one.

Nice planting.  Everywhere, lupins are back in fashion again!!  Good spikes of colour.

This looked inviting, with the big cushions to loll on.

    Another view of it.

This was lovely:  that night, we saw the lady who designed it, on TV.  2nd lady from the left, on here.  To the right, you can just see a "wishing well" she had included but I thought that that was discordant as it was perspex and would have got dirty if in a real garden, anyway.

This almost defies comment, though -  just shows that soggy wet grass is not attractive, in my opinion!!

  • I liked these glass flowers!

This was a big pop of colour in the middle of everything.   "Flower Power" it said!

When I looked more closely, I liked the girl here who seems to be doing a bit of tree hugging!!

Another place to loll - big white cushions on a plastic shell, amidst the greenery.

    More lupins!

  • Finally with stepdaughter's help now all packed up and ready to head to Grantown! Cats now on holiday! Off tomorrow between 8 and 9am. I hope the plans for the journey work out. The house contract should be exchanged before we come back and we might even find the money in the executor account. Looking to some rest time!

  • LINDA - one thing about the flower show pics this year - because of the wet day, less people got in the way and you got some really good angles on the attractions!

FORESTBOAR - have a great time on Speyside!

    Still dreich here this evening!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • FORESTBOAR   Safe journey......have a great time.
