This is the beginning of a running thread of the off-season LG Nest Observation Thread until EJ's return next Spring. She may be on holiday or perhaps she is taking a leisurely route with long layovers, investigating nearby territories. God speed her to her wintering grounds and back to our eyes in 2018. With a bit of luck and good timing, EJ the Wise and Magnificent could oust the youngsters CT6 and apparent beau Twiggy from taking over her property.
Please post any notable observations here in the off-season. For more of this season's information on this nest, please see BNN's DU Summaries for 2017.
Photos of EJ fishing on July 14th (last day she was seen) at Aviemore Lochan, posted on FB by Dave Joicey, perhaps taken by Lynne Joicey.

So interesting that there has been skydancing but we see no one... it makes me wonder if the skydancing is also to find out if there any possible takers nearby.

CC an interesting point. You are probably right in what you are thinking. -:)

I like your thinking, too, CC!
The rain that Scylla reported this morning has passed thru, and it is now a beautiful day albeit a bit windy.

The last 4-7 days there's been no sound from the Loch Garten Nest webcam on my Apple iPad and iPhone with just the webcam with no sound and the webcam then freezes after a few minutes.
Regards,
Ian.
I'm here but otherwise engaged. Buzzard just called, definitely not skydancing ;) Catch up soon.

CATCHUP
Nightcam 2130hr
DAYCAM 0517hr
I am just recovering from a huge beam that took over my face. (You've got to hear the story ;) ) I'd had to be out in the kitchen at what I consider a crucial time of day, it couldn't be avoided, so I knew I could have missed something significant... So I put my speaker on my lap and replayed 0500-0530hr, suffering the brain-scratching invasion and thinking "you're on a hiding to nothing, you fool", and then one of several buzzard calls and then !!!
SKYDANCING ~ 05:24hr
Skip to 40 seconds for a quick unequivocal aural glimpse ;) but this is the uncut version.
1m43s
Now there's someone "barking" out there, not a fox, not a deer ???
And the crow keeps cawing on 'n off.
Hi SCYLLA
Good morning, Mary :-*
Pity no landing again.
