This is the beginning of a running thread of the off-season LG Nest Observation Thread until EJ's return next Spring. She may be on holiday or perhaps she is taking a leisurely route with long layovers, investigating nearby territories. God speed her to her wintering grounds and back to our eyes in 2018. With a bit of luck and good timing, EJ the Wise and Magnificent could oust the youngsters CT6 and apparent beau Twiggy from taking over her property.
Please post any notable observations here in the off-season. For more of this season's information on this nest, please see BNN's DU Summaries for 2017.
Photos of EJ fishing on July 14th (last day she was seen) at Aviemore Lochan, posted on FB by Dave Joicey, perhaps taken by Lynne Joicey.

Good Morning Scylla if you are still around.
That Osprey who did the Sky Dancing in your video was just teasing us, as it got louder I was positive we were going to get a landing LOL....but zilch!
Wonder who it was, of the many who appeared this season, probably Twiggy :-)

Very much so, been ever so busy! (Californian barn owls had a big interesting session too.)
If it was Twiggy I'm very surprised that we haven't seen him on the nest at all - but I'm not saying that it wasn't him ;) I was very disappointed we had no landing.
Morning all and thank you so much BLAIR, for your update last night. It's so frustrating looking in and only seeing an empty nest, not knowing whether you can see so much more! Any news would be much appreciated.
That's me done for a good few hours, SYAL :)

Morning Moffer, and thank you Scylla for your 'skydance' vid. I wonder which two were around. I assume a male won't do that if there is no female around.
Lovely scenic views this morning, with a lovely slow pan of the Forest. Thank you VC for this. It's brilliant.
Hi guys!!
A loud cheep cheep from a chaffinch on the nest!

Buzzards heard again earlier.
I am not sure that this has actually worked very well. OH attempted a panorama for me using my snips on Bridge and Photoshop. It's not brilliant, but it's an attempt in poor light.
Although I took eleven snips starting with the VC and panning left with the camera, the panorama came differently. The VC is, I think in the left of the second shot. There appears to be a feint line from the FH to the bottom on the nest, thru the green area which I believe is boggy!
Uncovered LG recording laptop to find TWO OSPREYS on the nest. Am checking...
