HAPPY NEW WEEK!I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Good morning all.
ANNETTE- am I right in thinking that you had a lot of ash to get rid of, after the wildfires?
It is a bright morning here - hope that the grass cutting man will arrive, he cancelled yesterday because of the rain.
OG- have been thinking about you and hoping that your infection isn't causing too many extra bathroom visits. Must be exhausting.
Good Morning. Damp on the windows here, so will have to take raincoats with us to the Flower Show today.
Just looking to see where the sun cream is, so that we're ready for anything!
Here's today's pic:
"You don't have to be red or blue, to be beautiful......."
LINDY did you see the TV programme about Tatton?
Yes!!
Blood test visit was a bit dramatic - was a nurse who hasn't seen me for a long time, and we had a gusher - down my arm onto my clothes (got it washed out) and on her hands! Other arm no good, but second attempt on right arm was successful. Remainder of the day didn't do much, except helped make dinner.
LINDA - probably a bit late to say it, but enjoy Tatton - looks a good one again from what I saw on TV.
We are going to Langholm later; season's brochure for Buccleuch Centre arrived last week, and we chose several gigs, so decided it will be easier to book in person - excuse for lunch in their coffee shop!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi all. OG - glad J made it to Inverness and dau and fiance picked him up. Do get yourself better again. The last thing you want is to go slightly downhill again with infections.
Lindy - hope you've managed to reseed the lawn again. It happens with cats too - leaves a slightly brown patch, its the amonia in the wee that does it.
Heatherb and Wendyb great to hear your news too as Annettes.
Well auction went ahead but the cottage didn't realise its reserve price. Only got up to 195k and I think the present landlord wanted well over 200k for it. At the last auction it reached 240k so why on earth didn't he accept that amount at least we would have got rid of the man. So we wait and see what happens next meanwhile my brother lives in squallor with just the kitchen, living room and a bedroom furnished, with all around him waiting to be finished off. Dust everywhere.

Heather: Yes, ash and the usual dirt were piling up. You have to get it off cars coz it's corrosive. I broke down and used the hose to wash it off the patio umbrellas, managing to direct it so the run off cleaned off the patio too. Fire is just about under 100% control, thanks to cooler days, but the Detweiler fire near Yosemite is awful. They've evacuated a lovely old gold-mining town called Mariposa (butterfly).
OG: Oh my, blood test a little too exciting. Glad it washed out.
I've been watching, ANNETTE:-(
Pleasant tip to Langholm - day started wet but all dried up by the time we set off. Sky was a lovely mix of blue and cloud - although the latter did appear to be more threatening higher up on the Moor. Both had very good jacket potatoes and salad for lunch - he had cheese and tomato and I had cheese and chutney. Got the seat reservations we wanted and also booked some pre-performance suppers. A short shower just after we arrived home, dark afternoon and then some early evening sunshine.
LYNETTE - good to see your post, but so sorry about the auction result; I wonder what will happen next to the house?
ANNETTE - glad the fire near you is just about fully under control, but that one near Yosemite sounds really serious.
OH just checked for watering needs in the greenhouse, and now I think we shall have a quiet TV evening!
