HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • Hi all - thanks for all your interesting snippits of news.

Diane - enjoy your vacation in Indianapolis.

Annette - busy as ever, relax when you can

OG - glad the weather has picked up again. Same down here too but we might get a hint of thunderstorms by Wed. night!

WendyB, HeatherB, Lindy - hi to you all.  Love the pics, Lindy.

Well, childhood home goes up for auction for the second time tomorrow so will watch the auction live to see what the outcome is but don't hold out much hope for it being sold. I just wish the present landlord had accepted the bidding price last time. Maybe by now the renovations would be well on their way. We wait with baited breath as to the outcome.

  • Lynette: Hope all goes well tomorrow.

    Take care everyone

  • Good Morning, All.  Dry here! Was expecting it to be raining, but maybe it's yet to come.

Hope things work out for your family home today, Lynette.

  • Here's today's pic:

"We tell ourselves our own jokes!"

  • Morning all - dry here too, LINDY. So far. I hope the house gets sold, LYNETTE.

  • We were expecting to wake up to rain which was due to start at 5am, but now due at teatime with a possible shower at lunchtime.  It was a horribly hot night – OH fetched the big fan from the lounge to cool me down, as the bedroom fan was doing nothing for me.  The wind has changed direction from south to north, but it is still far too warm – exhausting!  Commiserations with those who experienced the thunder storms overnight.

Wendy – I hope te invalid will have a good day.

Lynette – I hope the auction will attract a good buyer and a price which will suit the current owner.

OH about to set off taking J to the station.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG - I had the bedroom fan on last night. Unfortunately don't have a bigger one - maybe a future purchase! In which direction is J going -south or north?

The speakers of my PC are making a loud buzzing noise, I've Googled it but not much the wiser. Good job that my son is arriving at the weekend and will most likely be able to sort it. I went in the office last night at about 2am, the PC was shut down but what a noise from the speakers. I switched the computer off at the mains and that stopped the noise.

LINDY - I hope that your friend will continue to make good progress.

  • HEATHER - he's going north - but the better trains don't always stop at Lockerbie, so he goes south to Carlisle first!  Change at Edinburgh Haymerket, then arrive Inverness mid afternoon then local train out to Muir of Ord.  He couldn't go local from Annan to Carlisle this end as the line here is closed for repairs.  We always turn off the whole computer circuit when we go to bed, so the active speakers are never left live on their own.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • I keep my speakers turned off unless I actually need them.  it saves a succession of strange noises when I click onto anything!

OG - sounds like a complicated journey for J.  Hope it all works smoothly.

Strange day here ... dull and overcast with the odd bit of drizzle, after a noisy night of thunder and lightning, but only a little rain.  Wonder if we'll get through our bowls match this afternoon without getting wet?  There is history against our visiting team - the last two years, when we have played at their club we have been rained off!

  • Pat O and OG - There isn't much hope for me. I just looked at the speakers and saw that there is an on/off switch for power. OH's speakers were still on, also, even though his PC is not on....
