HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • Pat O be jealous of my stunning sun set:-)

  • Poor Daisy, but at least she could enjoy the sunshine today!  Rescue services are out in the village next to us, checking vulnerable people affected by flooding this afternoon - we are fine here, haven't heard any mention of our harbour area.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • We ate the kippers for dinner tonight! with our own green beans and potatoes (followed by Scottish strawberries & frothy cream).

Although technically, we bought them right outside the Country Living Tent, where there was a "street" of food stalls. The kippers were being smoked in a mini version of the usual shed, as a demonstration. We also tried several samples of the gorgeous cheeses on sale -- I adore cheese, but we resisted buying any.

Today, it was much drier here and the sun came out after lunch so we pruned the "new" front hedge which is tiny, but coming along well. My OH put weedkiller on the gravel we have instead of a front lawn, and I pruned a couple of shrubs. It all looks satisfyingly tidy now. Then we had a cup of tea before starting to plant the potentilla we bought yesterday. But when we looked outside, it had started raining very heavily, so had to run and grab our garden tools.

It is a shame, Pat. I know how annoying it can be when you want to play bowls but the weather has other ideas!  :-(

  • See that you posted while I was slowly writing my post, OG -- Hope you're not affected by the flooding. The whole country seems to have been having heavy rainfall and sudden showers.
