HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • Had a good day at Tatton Flower Show, but it was a little difficult because of the weather --- we had heavy showers and gusty wind this year.

Wore a light raincoat over a cardigan, over a light sweater, in case it got hotter, so that I could peel layers off. But none of it did!

It didn't seem as busy as usual, so maybe some people didn't fancy the weather. We had tickets for today, so had no choice in the matter! The programme about it is being shown on BBC2 right now, and is in the sunshine, so must have been recorded yesterday.  I bought a Potentilla called "Monarch  Velvet" which is a deep red. Also a clock which can be used inside or outside, as a present for sis-in-law.

Loved all the fripperies which are hand made in metal or wood, for putting in the garden. This year I bought a tall metal "stem" with metal flowers hanging down from it, and a dragonfly atop.

Went into the Country Living Tent and bought a nicely striped navy and white loose linen top, for hot days. My OH bought a pair of kippers!!

Came home for a late lunch, weary but happy. Fell asleep with the News on TV....

Pics at a later date, of what we saw :-)

  • Good morning all. Had a lovely couple of days with my eldest Daughter and baby Luna. I went back to Silverstone with them on Wednesday and stayed over so I could collect Eldest Granddaughter Seraphina from school - she is 6 in October and has just completed her first year at school. Then yesterday I just had time to change the bedding before my son, partner and 2 month old James arrived from London for the weekend.

I have to say that these 2 babies have been our salvation in these dark days and we are all so pleased that Katie got to see and hold them before she got ill.

We are off the see Framlingham Castle today, for fans of Ed Sheran its where is is from and his latest single is called Castle on the Hill about it. Hopefully we will miss the thunderstorms forecast.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

  • Good Morning, All.  Sunny through my window today.

Nice to hear that you've been enjoying time with the family, Harelady. Babies do bring a smile to all :-)  Not seen Framlingham Castle, hope you enjoy your day.

Sorry things didn't go any better at the auction, Lynette. Sounds as if this situation could be a long term pain.

  • Here's today's pic:

"You can't see me in this forest!"

  • Good morning -

Just a quick visit, eldest daughter has decided to have Katie's 16th party here tomorrow because of uncertain weather forecasted (was going to be a barbecue) I'm more than happy - we need to start making new memories in this house. Son is arriving tomorrow so have to go shopping and sort things out for the party. Only in terms of crockery cutlery etc. Daughter is organising the food.

    Have a good day, all

  • How nice that will be, Heather. Maybe you can be lucky and have a barbeque, anyway! The weather's certainly doing strange things this week. Much better here today than yesterday, when I clumped around the show in my short wellies.

Met an old friend, so we were chatting for half an hour in the supermarket car park. She has two sons, too, and we used to meet when they were all rowdy youngsters together at school, as in those days we all lived only a short walk from it.

Lovely pics in the media today of young Prince George, who with his sister Charlotte seems refreshingly normal.

  • REALLY wet day – including short but heavy thunder storms early afternoon – water streaming down the road to try to find somewhere to go!  Still warm – they keep saying cooler, but it doesn’t happen!

Linda – pleased it was a good visit to Tatton Park Show despite the weather.  I watched it again yesterday evening and was surprised by the sunshine – you are probably right that they filmed the day before!  Did your OH really buy kippers in the Country Life Tent, or was that something to do with predictive text?  We always buy cheese at those events (or anywhere else!)

Harelady – pleased that you are enjoying family visits and especially the babies!  I hope you had dry weather to visit Framlingham – somewhere which figures on OH’s family tree – they had the pub near the Castle!

Heather – have a wonderful family party – and I like the intention of making happier memories in your house!

OH is making use of the wet day by cleaning in the lounge, so I am banished to the study to write this!  J phoned at lunchtime; he seems to be having a good time up north.  He and Dau#2 and Fiancé were planning on a walk this afternoon and a visit to Culloden battlefield (Drumossie Moor, I think it should be called!) tomorrow; on weekdays he is finding his own way around while they are at work.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Quick look in to say will catch up tonight - and if Diane's reading this - will start the new thread then.

  • Super sunny day here..

Daisy grumpy as bandage came off to let foot dry out ..

Not a good patient as she hates being a standard lamp and having a sock on..

  • Oh dear - I am so envious of all those people who have had a lovely sunny day!  It was our President's Day at bowls today - and it poured, together with thunder and lightning!  We played four ends and were driven in.  We went out again for another two ends but were finally forced to abandon the game - the green looked more like a swimming pool!  Such a shame - but it did mean I got home earlier than expected so was able to see more of the Open Golf!
