HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • Harelady: Oh crikey, that must've been hard. Just what you don't need...  Enjoy baby Luna - what a pretty name!

  • That must have been difficult, Harelady.

Hope that baby Luna is on good behaviour. They are such a joy, but can be tiring!

I had asked my Priest to say masses at various stages of Katies Illness and ultimate death - but he did not pass the news on to the congregation. The masses were said on weekdays when we do not get a huge attendance. Therefore I had lots of people asking me about my recent absences and had to explain about Katie which was hard.

Harelady –I feel for you. Some time ago here the parishes stopped publishing names of the sick unless written permission because of privacy. To me it contradicts the idea that the congregation is one big family.

  • Diane – Thanks for starting us off while you are indulging city life. Your critters back home will be missing you.

Yesterday it rained all pm, today expecting wind and rain. I’m not sure if Dau & Little People will visit us this week as they are in midst of a gastro attack, one after the other. No doubt picked up at one of the holiday outings. The sausage rolls and chicken soup (options I made for their lunch) will keep in freezer. And if Dau should call for help, I have ready made meals to deliver.

  • AQ: What a great nana you are. Hurray for the rain.  :-)

  • Good Morning, All.  Bright outside my window this morning, as I get up early ready for a busy day.

AQ -- Great that it's rained. Hope the family illness is short lived.

  • Here's today's pic:

    "I'm a red legged partridge!"

(Not a cartridge, according to the spellchecker.......)

  • Good morning - thanks to DIANE.

Well, it is dry here but still a little breezy. Yesterday I found loads of little apples lying on the grass. Don't know if it is a late 'June drop, the birds or the wind.

HARELADY - I'm so sorry that you were faced with such unexpected difficulties at church. I'm afraid that seven months after my OH's death I still occasionally come across folk who don't know. I stupidly assumed that everyone reads our local paper - obviously not. The jungle tom toms are not as active as they might be. However as time passes it is, of course, much less upsetting to talk about. Hugs from here.

AQ - You are a fantastic Mum, I think! Sorry that the family have gastric problems. Mia, my granddaughter in Elgin, went to spend the afternoon and have evening meal with a friend on Friday last. Said friend has five siblings and within 24 hours, Mia, four of the siblings and the friend's Mum had a vomiting bug. Plus another friend who was at the house. Thankfully it hasn't spread within my daughters family (yet!).

Grandson Callum was on the road yesterday, driving down to college in Milton Keynes where the Audi apprentices go every few months for theory training and tests etc. The firm usually send him by air but this time he was handed a new Audi and a fuel card. It is the longest distance that he has ever driven and his Mum and I were nervous as you can imagine, he isn't nineteen yet. Typically, he decided to do the journey without stopping overnight.....

I'd better go and get organised. Must do a bit of shopping and pay the electricity bill. How boring.

  • Another day of full sunshine – just a bit breezy.  Yesterday afternoon OH succeeded in moving all the relevant containers back onto the deck, and it‘s looking good – still plenty of space to sit too.  Despite a few days of gentle rain, he had to water a few things last evening, and tonight will have to get the hosepipe out again.  Since the morning shopping, he has mostly been busy indoors, although I have done a few things too.  Apart from early morning, late evening and during the night, I have abandoned the zimmer in favour of the crutches – and have even moved very short distances with only one.

Harelady – so sorry you had such a difficult and painful experience at church yesterday; I hope it won’t happen there again.  Enjoy the visit of your elder Daughter and baby Luna.

AQ – I so agree with you about the value of the church “sick-list” – if the church family can’t be informed to pray for one another, who will?  Congratulations on the wet Sunday!  Sorry the family couldn’t visit, and I hope they will all soon recover.

Linda – I hope the busy day worked out well and that the carpet fitters arrived nice and early, so you can start moving furniture back – or do you have to wait for cousin to be available again?

Heather – little green apples suggest a late June drop, maybe wind-assisted!  Pleased to see that Callum had the opportunity to drive this time – I am sure he will get back safe and sound!

Will now go and offer my services – or advice! – in the kitchen.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Ditto here OG a gorgeous day...so loads of gardening as yesterday sort of wasted due to tennis and Silverstone Grand Prix. OH has just done the lawn whilst I manned the business phone.

One good walk with Daisy and the second was like taking a donkey for a walk. Up early tomorrow as need to have walked her before being at vets by 8.45.
