LINDY - Scarred for life ? LOL. I would have said just what you did and then gone home and got annoyed about it!
AQ - Love reading about your days with the girls. All I could think was about the sand mess and hoping that you didn't have to get up and down too often... Such a precious time, though. A friend of mine messaged me this morning. Her husband died a year ago and that is hard enough. However, she used to look after her grand children regularly and enjoyed that so much. Then, her daughter upped and left the husband and went with a new partner. This has resulted in an estrangement between my friend and her daughter. Now my friend doesn't see her dearly loved grand children. She misses them so much and they must surely be missing their Granny, too.
OG - Like the sound of your meal especially the tart. I would have liked the stuffed mushroom, also.
I have company today. Middle daughter here for the day and sleeping here tonight. Callum and Amy are down in Edinburgh visiting their Dad. Callum got two days leave from work. Amy is 16 today and it is good that she will be with her dad. The two of them are having what they call a 'Daddy and daughter day'.
ANNETTE - Seems like you have made a good contact with the gardening guy. I panic a bit about the trees here, etc but in truth, OH would have had to get help at some point.
MULBERRY So very sorry
LINDY "mud, glorious mud"!!!
Harelady: So pleased for you that all went well, although it did sound somewhat hot. I expect you felt rather deflated afterwards, having had to keep yourself 'on the go' and having a lot to organise beforehand. Please take care of yourself, now.
HARELADY Good of you to let us know how you coped with such a dreadful day. Keep strong.
I haven't posted and only read for the past few days as I had a painful flare up of arthritis in right hand and wrist, bit better now. Tonight we are off to Eden Court to see a "Queen" tribute band. Will treat Dave to a meal at "Riva" first. This will be a belated birthday meal
Ouch, Dibnlib: Hope the hand and wrist continue to improve; it sound s very painful.
Enjoy your night out. (I'd love to see a Queen tribute).
Heather : That's a sad tale. But these things do happen, more nowadays, I think, as more couples split up.
I often wonder how I'd cope if my OH wasn't here to climb trees etc: one day not too far off, he won't be able to anyway, and he'll hate having to delegate things to someone else.
We were sitting in the garden an hour ago but some big fat raindrops made us run for cover, gathering newspapers and laundry as we went. Then it all cleared...... grr!
Just been to collect The Old Car - she will live now, to take my OH to the allotment for another day. Hopefully she might last for a couple more years.......
(Footnote - it turned out to be a hole in the radiator, so a new one's been fitted)
It's very hot here so I'm rushing around opening windows to get a little bit of breeze.
HARELADY - our posts crossed. Now that the funeral is over, you have time to come to terms and start the new phase of life. It will take time but it sounds as if you have a loving family round about you. Take care.
That's very kind of you Heather. I know it will take time and the pain will lessen.
