Some on Weekly Chat may remember the pictures and videos which myself and NiteOwl once posted, featuring our dog Jess.
Sadly, I must report that Jess died two weeks ago. She sustained fatal injuries after a fall from height, onto rocks near where I now live on the west coast of Scotland. She was 9 years old.
She was on a walk which she had done many times before. However, fresh vegetation may have disorientated her, and led her towards danger. I urge all dog owners to not to become complacent about their dog's safety when out walking. If you think it's maybe time to get them on a lead, then do it immediately. Don't assume your dog will keep itself safe.
The photo above is the last of Jess, taken the evening before her accident. As you can see, she was happy right til the end.
Aw, Mulberry, I'm so sorry that you've had to come on and post such sad news. It's true that dogs generally know what they're doing, but you do need to be careful in some situations. Jess was a much loved dog, I know, and will be very much missed. Please pass on my condolences to NiteOwl, too.
A HAPPY 4th JULY to ALL our American FRIENDS!
Have a lovely celebration!
Diane - It got too late in the end, and I didn't want to disturb my OH, so I missed the launch.
Grey skies here. The TV weather report is being given from the Wimbledon courts, as it all started yesterday. Glad to see that Andy Murray did not seem to be too troubled by his hip injury, and won his 1st round yesterday.
Here's today's pic:
My first jugful of our own sweet peas, this year!
Just a quick greeting to those over the pond, on INDEPENDENCE DAY.
BBL with replies etc.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hope it has a dry spell for your trip out to the Docs, OG!
Happy 4th July to our American friends !
LINDY - I think that we have seen the jug of sweet peas but they are even sweeter the second time around :-) I love the perfume, can almost smell it x
I'm getting organised for the visit to solicitor. Just want everything to be done and dusted, you will understand, I know.
Hope that all goes well with OG's visit to the doc.
MULBERRY - So sorry about Jess, hugs from here.
