Evening all:
Harelady: Good to read that you had family around this week and that you have friends helping you after you head back home. I hope you have continued support in the next few months, especially after things have settled down and all the logistics have been taken care of. Hugs to you!
Heather: How nice that Amy gets to spend her b/day with her Dad and that you have time with daughter. Really sorry about your friend not being able to see her grandchildren; you always wonder how the situation deteriorated to such an extent.
Another day in the garden, spreading mulch hither and yon. I spent all last year feeling guilty that I hadn't replenished and don't want to stop now that I'm in the groove, so to speak.
Hi to everyone; hope feet, faces and any other sore bits are better soon. :-)
Good Morning, All.
Dry here, and supposed to be a sunny day. I say "supposed" as it could be stormy if we're unlucky. It looks as if it'll be another hot day at Wimbledon.
My OH has gone off for a golf competition day, so I have time to myself. Lots to do, though!
Here's today's pic:
"And Whooo are you?"
Good morning
Wet again here so no gardening. Middle daughter has just left as she has some things to prepare for Amy's belated birthday dinner at her own house. Lucky Amy - two birthday meals and two cakes! Lucky that she has the insulin pump and can programme it so that she can eat cake.
I have a mini crisis - can't find my reading glasses. Senior moment, I'm sure. As long as I haven't put them in the washing machine.... My other specs are varifocal but I much prefer straightforward reading glasses for - well - reading.
Back later
Oh, heck, Heather -- Hope they turn up!
If I put my glasses down, I can't find them, as I'm so short sighted I'm lost without them. I have two pairs, plus some prescription sunglasses, and some special ones for looking at my computer screen with. And some ordinary sunglasses. And some sunglasses which go over my usual glasses. I have a bagful when I go away!! LOL!!
I think that I'll get more than one pair the next time, LINDY!!
When I saw that you'd posted, I hoped you'd found them, Heather.....
Have you looked in all your coat pockets? Good Luck!
Good morning. I read a few posts yesterday, but didn’t write anything. Despite waking up late (as well as the usual every two hours through the night), I was still tired from going out on Wednesday – I still find it quite a strain meeting people and having conversations, and this is no better now I am taking some new medication which makes me drowsy! It was a damp and dreary day, but lovely in the evening. Today has begun cloudy, but is expected to improve; it isn’t cold, in fact the night was very hot again. OH is doing the Friday shopping, and J has gone for a haircut. Deck man couldn’t come yesterday, so I hope he will appear today – it is looking very good now.
AQ – I enjoyed reading your description of this week’s nanny-day! But rather you than me! Day out with friend sounds much more civilised!
HARELADY – pleased there was laughter as well as tears on Wednesday, and some family catch-up opportunities. It could be good that you have the flat clearance to deal with, and the unpacking in your own new house, but don’t let those practical issues take over your grief – you do need time for that as well, so let it happen and heal you. Prayers continue.
HEATHER – good that you and Alison could get some good mother/daughter time while Callum and Amy were away. I hope the reading glasses will turn up soon!
DIBNLIB – sorry about the arthritis flare-up – I can fully sympathise as my wrists and hands have got so much worse with using the crutches to walk. We ate at Riva last time we were in Inverness, and enjoyed the food as well as the attentive care of the staff.
LINDA – I hope the old car will last a few years after the expense of a new radiator.
ANNETTE – what do you use as mulch for your garden? We use quite a lot of composted bark.
I think today will be a part indoor and part outdoor day for OH – probably with a few “suggestions” from me! I was quite helpful yesterday, I think.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Found the specs. Stupid, stupid me. I had put a large (wide) book on top of a small book on my bedside table and the glasses were lying beside the small book. Can't believe that I didn't think to check that before going in every room in the house and even the garage :-(
ANNETTE - Re my friend in Wales. Her daughter announced the break up of her marriage at the same time as her father was very poorly, a few months before he died. Both of her parents were very fond of their son in law and also good friends with his parents. I'm afraid that her parents didn't agree with her decision and said so. In fact, her father said that she was no longer his daughter. That resulted in the estrangement. Very unfair on the wee ones, they are being used as weapons/pawns in this whole sad and sorry situation. Sometimes it is better not to interfere.....
