Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 4 June 2017

NEW CHAT THREAD

This is the new thread for the week. I am watching the news of the terror attacks in London. I don't think it's appropriate to post my usual wishes for a happy new week along with a cheerful photo. I will simply say that my thoughts are with all of my dear friends in the U.K. I hope you all stay safe.

  • Back later -- meanwhile, here's today's pic: tried to post one a hour ago and it wouldn't post!

    "What election?!"

  • My posting pattern's gone awry -
    I'll admit it,
    With a sigh....

Instead of putting a pic or two
The air around here has been blue!
And instead of pretty kittens four
I've been stamping my foot upon the floor.

Instead of smiling goats or horses
I'm signing up for pc courses....
So that I can get the pictures jolly
    Upon the pages without folly.

Instead of a lovely butterflies hue
The air around has been decidedly blue.
But now I'm back, and also groomed -
I've combed my hair and teeth are cleaned
Now, Normal Service can be resumed!!

  • Oh LINDY LINDY what a mess

I'm not so clever - must confess

A silver surfer I may be

    But mostly its a mystery.

  • I think that I am the great granddaughter of a certain William McGonagall. Sorry to those who haven't heard of him, you'll have to Google it. I can't do smart links or indeed, very much, online. Shopping seems to be OK, though:-)

  • Guess where I've been this afternoon - Loch of the Lowes!  What a lovely place - even though it was freezing cold and pouring with rain all the time I was there.  No sign of Laddie, but watched Lassie and the chicks on the nest.  They were all trying to keep dry ... as I was!

  • So jealous, Pat! -- I've been following LotL for years online, but never been. It looks like a beautiful area. Glad you enjoyed.

Heather: I remember William McGonagall - are you really related?  Love the poem!  Sorry if I gave you a fright this morning, but it was just a series of events and circumstance. In the end, I had my breakfast and decided to try and post afterwards.

Annette - Good that you're enjoying your daughters visit.

OG -  Thought about you getting your hair cut, at the time - it makes you feel so much better being tidy, when you've been out of routine!

Lynette - Sorry to hear that you're in the wars. Hope it's not too painful. Shame that just a clip with the car caused so much expense :-(

Dibnlib: Enjoy your trip to La Boheme - the first opera I ever dragged my OH to, and he was instantly hooked. That was many years ago, and now we enjoy watching them together, plus listening to various singers on the radio and on CD.

Rushed off and voted during a showery morning. Met my Friend later, in our favourite garden centre, where we both had a delish. pea & ham soup, plus a cheese sandwich veritably stuffed with grated cheddar.

  • AQ -- Nearly forgot, glad that you had a (partly) quiet spell of nanny duty.  It's ironic that your daughter and her OH barely have the time for parenting Classes, when they're too busy being parents!

We still have very gusty winds here - the trees keep bending and shaking, and dropping fresh green leaves all over the place. More rain forecast for tomorrow.

  • Little ditties from you both

But from me a day of sloth!

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained,

Just a grumble while it rained!

Now it stopped, he needs a trip,

So I've sent him to the tip!

We all cast our postal votes a while ago, which has made all the non-news bulletins even more boring than usual!  (As I wrote, I wondered if I have said that before, if so, please forgive!)

PAT - so glad you got to Loch of the Lowes.  Enjoy the rest of your trip!

LINDA - pleased you turned up okay.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Sorry to hear of your accident and car problem. Take care.

  • PAT O Nice to hear you have been to LotL. It is a lovely area. We will be passing by Dunked next Thurs but no time to stop off. We will be travelling York to Pitlochry via Linlithgow to see Mum. No Benson as he will be in kennels at Boat of Garten.

Been back to the dentist for my 2nd emergency appt since the wisdom tooth extraction. I have been in quite a lot of pain with it. The dentist tells me all is looking well, but it is taking time to heel over. He has now given me antibiotics to take for the next 5 days. Must remember to take them away with us, and mouthwash too- not something I usually take away with me.
