There are several nests with healthy active bobbleheads which we will be watching with interest this summer. We expect a fine show of fledglings during late June & July, with many strong beautiful juvenile osprey migrating to their winter homes in Africa come August and September.
I do hope you will still find this a place to share any news of the osprey world that is of interest to you as well as other matters of interest. If anything pops up on Facebook I'll post it here.

Hope you enjoyed the eclipse June! We watched it on telly. I would have loved to be there. I too remember the 1999 eclipse but in Kent it was not total but there was a very strange light not really like dawn or dusk at all but still dark.
Not able to open your videos as on my phone but later I will!
No chicks now at Manton Bay. Not long now before Maya and B33 leave. Best wishes to all our ospreys safe journey. This season has just clown by.

Wish both 2AN and 2AM a safe journey where ever that may be and as with any other osprey Haste Ye Back. 2AN may already be there having left so early in July although the last bird I knew to leave so early took it very leisurely exploring France and Spain and having long breaks. I am sure we will see a few young visit the bay from other nests before the season is finished.
It was great to hear that S1 and S2 had made it from 2015 and were sighted north this summer - all in all a good season at Manton Bay.
At LOTL only saw one bird yesterday during an early visit before opening time and that was apparently the young female juvenile PH2 as PH1 the young male left a few days ago. The male LF12 still patrolling the area but never saw him.

He or she flew away only seconds after I took the picture.
Good afternoon all. All the nests are increasingly empty ☹
Seems Maya has gone now and Dear Blue 33 will follow soon. Best wishes and safe journeys to all our ospreys. 30 (05) has made very rapid progress that she will be happily sunning herself on her beach before long! I feel for the young ones and hope they stay safe.
