  • Hi all: Busy day. Will catch up tomorrow.  Stay well!

  • OG – While Twins are same height, MissJ is quite thin (as is Miss5) and MissL is chubby.

Linda – I smiled at Amber’s clothes determination. Dau has far more patience than I with her three.

OH has nanny duty this arvo. I have made a big casserole, some for tonight, some to freeze. Winter has arrived early – last night’s minimum was 5 C with 4 C next few nights. I may be missing tomorrow. Aussieland for a number of years has been promised improved internet with NBN (National Broadband Network). To OH’s delight NBN has reached our suburb. However I don’t know anyone who has had successful changeover. eg Dau said S-i-l spent 2 hours on (mobile) phone with complaint, to be told it won’t be fixed for 18 months. Nevertheless my OH wants The Latest <sigh>.

Seen while browsing a 1905 newspaper – “A young American woman, being asked by a politician which party she was most in favor of, replied that she preferred a wedding party”.

  • LOL AQ!!  --  things don't change, either. In spite of some of the saturation of politics on the media here, there are plenty out there who can't even name political leaders.

Hope your broadband switchover goes OK. If we don't hear from you for a month, we'll know why ;-)

A sunny start here today. Will be filling the line with 'dog towels' and dashing off to the hairdressers.

  • Here's today's pic:

This has been tagged "Fridge watch!"

  • Thank you so much for the suggestions for my 'free' day next Tuesday.  I have stayed at Seahouses in the past - lovely place with the best fish and chips ever!  I have been across to Lindisfarne three or four times - beautiful, particularly if you time it right and can be there when the causeway is covered!  At the moment it's a toss-up between Berwick-upon-Tweed/Eyemouth/St Abbs Head or Tweed Valley Ospreys - shall I turn left or right?  I'll let you know ...

  • Enjoy it, whichever you choose, Pat!  And tell us all about it afterwards.....  :-)

  • PAT - I would suggest spending the day exploring Duns and Eyemouth and don't try to do too much in the one day - journeys take longer in those parts, but with great views.

Wall to wall sunshine forecast here today, but part of the afternoon will be taken up by chiropodist visit to the three of us.  After that, OH is hoping to mow.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hello everyone -

I have read and enjoyed all your chat - thank you!

OG - I was going to grow cucumbers in the greenhouse but was planning on buying plants rather than start from seed. Do you grow yours in a greenhouse or a cold frame? My tomatoes are in the greenhouse. It was good to read about your successful results from the hospital.

DIBNLIB - Take it easy, be gentle on those new teeth!

GEORGE - Good to hear from you. Just needed to know if all was well.

Have a good day, all and sorry for lack of replies. I hope to be back later, depending on what the day brings.

  • Well, isn't that odd, Mike - I stayed there some years ago!  I had a room up in the attic and the wind and rain lashed around all night - lots of local flooding.  I felt as though I was on a ship! Don't remember the 'pub grub' - I seem to remember fish and chips somewhere ...

Thank you, OG - I appreciate your advice.  I think I have a pretty good day mapped out.  I think the sea will take precedence - although I'll see plenty of sea when I cross to the West Coast!  I'll report back after the event.
