Yesterday's CATCHUP, including another whole fish for EJ and its return to Odin.
EJ came to the nest after a (probable) Pine Marten clunk was heard - she stayed on watch, perching as far out to the right as possible. This video begins with a clunk and ends with a squit:

Too late for me to add on to vigil vid, she checked around the nest and flew:

YAY!!!!!!! Just glimpsed it!!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Let us seeee, EJ!
Whew! That was much easier than Lassie's first egg

19:03...?
And actually how deep is the egg-cup?!?
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I'm pleased it didn't seem to cause her any difficulty. She's a bit older than she used to be!
OM - EJ is standing in it, astride of the egg of course! So it is quite deep just now, nice and snug for two/three eggs to keep safe and warm!!
So am I Clare! I don't know how osprey years relate to humans.... bur at 20 she is getting on a bit! How old was Lady? Was it 24?
SheilaFE, it seems quite deep to me yes. :) Nice and snug sounds good, very good really.
I am so happy! I only just arrived home, and tuned in. Lucky me!!!
Lucky everyone for there is an Egg! :D
I haven't been able to get here recently, so I am over the moon that I popped in just at the right time! Another three days for egg #2 perhaps!
Awww, she puts her head and neck down, and paddles beneath her to made the egg even safer under her. I love watching that. And the sun is coming out to bless her!
