DAILY UPDATE ~ Loch Garten nest ~ Monday, 27 March 2017

It's been back up for a few minutes.  I've been troubleshooting Firefox to try to solve the mystery of why it can't find "playable sources" on Carnyx - the only thing it will play is the WTE Mull, but that's a BBC recording.

Here's a little skydancing and a little of the mystery birdsong:

That was more skydancing that I remember hearing!  I wonder whether the birdsong is a song thrush.  It is very repetitive.  Not the wee wee weeee at the end though!

How embarrassing...

Could someone give me a link to the LG cam on this site, please?  I cannot find the blighter.

I couldn't hear anything on your clip, scylla - so I still don't know what 'skydancing' is.  Can anyone enlighten me, please?  I'm still wearing 'L' plates!

Well it definitely has sound - I don't suppose the volume on the YouTube video could be muted?

At breeding time, male ospreys usually announce themselves by soaring and descending in the sky (often with fish-gift in talons) emitting a high-pitched squealy/squeaky call.  We should hear Odin before we see him, but not necessarily.
