Would just like to share this stunning photo of a Bittern that Darren took at Loch of Kinnordy RSPB Reserve, a place I have visited many times and is a delight to visit.

What fantastic parents BF and UF must be! And presumably they have a really good fish source :)
Thank you, Mary.

They don't have far to go for fish Scylla. Loch Roscobie next door is a favourite haunt, and also Balgavies Loch itself.
I remember my second year of visiting Balgavies, a guy in the hide was busy telling me that the male didn't fish in Balgavies Loch, the guy then left and what happened next, Green BF plucked a huge pike from the loch right in front of the hide ha ha.....
Also if you see Green BF with any flat fish you know he has been to Montrose Basin on a fishing expedition.
Darren went up to Loch Garten the other day, sat in the car park for two hours freezing and these are some of the wonderful photos he got of Crested tits. He stopped off at Lowes on way home so some photos on FB of Laddie also.
More can be seen on the Balgavies Loch Ospreys Facebook page.
I have never seen a crested tit, wonderful photos. I'm off to El Rocio next week & fingers crossed we just might find one.
News just in - an Osprey flying over Balgavies Loch, just waiting on ring number identification.
I will wait until ring number identification comes in before I do a jig LOL.....
